I am looking into this job. Duties include visually inspecting and taking pics of properties, evaluating condition of landscaping/paint/roof/curb appeal.

I am just wondering what your experience has been and if the 5 houses an hour is reasonable or not.

it for forclosure properties, insurance reasons, or for resale?

Here in MI. Would be impossible to do five properties in an hour. Does it also detail inspecting the septic system and
water well system? If so, here in MI, you can only inspect the septic and well if you are certified by the state (state licensed)
to do so. As far as the roof, once again, usually you would be required to actually climb on ladder to check that.

The septic, is time comsuming to check as well as the water quality. If purpose of this job would be for someone selling or buying
the home, then it is required here in MI, to run the water 45 mins and then take a water sample and take to a state certified lab
to have it tested. So no way would it be possible to do 5 houses in an hour.

Hope this helps. Guess it just depends why the inspection is required or wanted? All I know is, that here you pretty much have to be
certified with the state to do so to qualify for that job your are discribing. And here, you can override the county and go thru the state
if there are any issues or problems. Just did a water test today for a gal that is trying to sell her house, and she needs two samples
that pass, plus she had to have her septic pumped. The county inspector did the first sample and it did not pass. When I arrived today,
I (right off the bat) noticed that he did not do a very good job doing the well inspection. :( The well cap is NOT up to code, and she
may be looking at a new one, which is code. Will see on monday.. These inspectors are a real joke here. Some counties are stricter than
other, but for the price they charge, they should do it right and be aware of what exactly to look for not only visual , but other hidden
sources.

Apparently, it's for forclosures. You'd go by the house, take pic, go through a checklist of yes/no's, and then enter all the results online.
It's curbside and there is no contact with renters/owners.

I found out that they pay by the hour ($10) so if you had to do 5 per hour that's only $2 per house.

Nope, think I'll pass......

6|2|OMG, that is terrible that they would only pay that much. :(|driller|harj@frontier.com|22:32:43|12/02/2011|

You know, with the price of gas, it would definetely NOT be worth doing.

P.S. let the banks do it themselves. Better yet, if these are forclosures, then if the bank would of worked
with the owners, maybe these houses would not be left empty. I have one right next door and they totally trashed the house
when they left. So sad, but more & more here are just walking away. These banks stink... :(
