I have been out of work now for 3 weeks with my back. Started with chiropracter who sent me to pain management Doc so tests could be ordered. Had an MRI done and they see some swelling on a disc that they think is broken. Got authorization for the MRI but yesterday insurance co said they are not paying and I owe $4500!!! Can they do that when I got an authorization number? Anyway, 2 other procedures were denied. The shots that you get under anestesia and a bone scan. Pain mngmt Dr. is furious and his office is fighting for me. I like him. Work is being great, I have been there 18 years so I am not worried for my job. I am bored and in pain. I have been knitting and crocheting like crazy. LOL, made Anthony about 15 pairs of mittens. I cannot always get on the computer but welcome any emails or calls, I am so bored and so lonely now. LOL, I need to remember this feeling when I get back to work and am surronded by people again! The GREAT thing is 13 months and still not smoking! Funny how fixated I am on knowing how long I have not smoked. Maybe someday there will be a day I dont think about it!

I am so happy to see you post girlie, I sure miss you...I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through so much with your back...I feel that if you have an authorization number, then the insurance is responsible to pay it, I wouldn't pay it, I would tell the billing place to re-bill your insurance, you may have to get an attorney. I will tell you about the authorization for the MRI--Marshall had one a few months ago and we thought because they called the insurance company
and got authorization that it would be paid at 100 percent and boy were we fooled--Got a bill for 1100.00 and because his deductible had not been
met for the year we had to pay it all--The authorization is just to guarantee that the place that you have the MRI done will get there money when
they file and of course insurance does not pay because of deductible not being met so it fell in our lap--It will be a last resort before another one is
ever done. It was hard to come up with 1100.00 and they would not do a payment plan

it told a long time before I wanted a ciggy especially when I was doing something that i would smoke one.but that finally went away.it does get easier

in the hospital. I am so excited about maybe not being in so much pain! I called the ins co. about the MRI not being covered and the guy I spoke to said the number was put in incorrectly and they will in fact, cover it. I feel like I hit the lottery, except for being out of work for 5 weeks! Just keep my fingers crossed about the results.

I broke my upper thigh to hip bone last Feb so I am still healing. I am in a wheelchair as my right hip isn't good at all. But I can get around a lot and do a lot. I can stand a little at a time. It sure is hard going through health problems as we get older. 17|1|Cathie, so good to see you posting. I think about you often. Sorry to hear of your medical issues, but a huge hoorah for 13 months not smoking. I quit 24 years ago and it does get easier. went for exrays and unfortunately for me, my Doc was not on that day and I got an orthapedist that I never liked. Of course, it could be from something he couldn't see but hmmm, I'm not so sure.
