I just seen on my DirectTV screen a runner on bottom saying as of Nov 1st DirectTV is dropping Fox, FX. Nat Geo, Speed and a few other channels. I am sooo mad! The only choices I have here are DirectTV & Dish. I had Dish before but it got soo expensive and certain channels were not available so some years back I switched. Now, they are taking two of the channels we watch a LOT which is FX and NatGeo.

They are also breaching contracts as the customers paying for pkgs with these channels will no longer have them available and am sure they are NOT going to lower the prices to reflect this dropping of course. There IS power in numbers! :)

Fox and FX are two of our most-watched channels so I am furious. DISH just dropped some of their best channels, too.

they get enough complaints they will keep them. Nothing else availble here..not cable, Fios etc. Just Dish or DirectTV since we live in such a rural area. Really stinks as there is a new show coming on Nat Geo we were looking forward to watching.
Ideally I think we should get to pick channels to make up our own package and price accordingly to that. But..since it would be the 'right' thing to do, that won't happen of course. :(

some of the other well known banks are backing down as well. Seen that the same organization that is doing the Occupy Wallstreet was calling for everyone to close their checking & savings accts in big banks and go back to using small banks and credit unions..right after their announcing everyone should do that, amazingly BOA and others reversed their decisions. There IS strength in numbers and they were scared. About time people fought back! Now..if only people would do that in elections etc and get this country back on track again. Seems some of these companies/banks have no problem spending money on all the junk mail they send out - DirectTV, Dish Network, Mediacom, CitiBank, Chase & BOA, just to name a few. Sure, they keep the PO busy, but maybe those companies/banks wouldn't feel the greedy need to keep trying to stick it to their customers at every turn if they didn't send out so much crap in the mail. I make good use of the pre-paid postage envies they include tho. hee! hee! ;)
