So, my 7 year old has bought home this ice cream recipe that he had at school this week, and wants me to make it for him. Only problem is that he didn't actually see it being made, and the directions are sort of.... vague. Does anyone recognize this recipe and can you give me more details on how to actually make it? I'm sure there is more involved than what is on this little post-it note that I have, and the little guy is begging me to make it, LOL!

Here is what I have:
1/2 cup milk
1 Tbs sugar
1 tsp vanilla
ice-salt
....and apparently all this is supposed to go in a baggie? I'm thinking I need to know how much ice and salt to put in there, and do I need to grind the ice up or something?

Thanks!
Jessica

1|1|I would imagine you dont add the ice and salt to the rest of the ingredients.....those will go in a large bowl or large container, then the baggie with the rest of the ingredients would go into that bowl of ice and salt....you would probably squeeze and knead the baggie every so often, then replace it in the ice/salt bowl.....I am just basing this on how ice cream is made with the old fashioned churner things.....the rock salt and ice would go in the outer area of the churn thing, and the ingredients would go in the center area where the churn paddles are....try searching "ice cream made in a baggie" and see if you can find more definitive instructions :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|12:02:26|10/22/2011|

Donna 2|1|I do not understand the recipe, but can tell you, the old fashioned ice cream makers were a large container that you put ice and salt into, then you put the icecream ingredients in a seperate bowl, sit it in the ice and slat, and constantly churn the iceream in the bowl. |dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|12:18:03|10/22/2011|
