Everyone that participates will have a chance to win. The first prize is a surprise and if I find some good deals this weekend, I can send smaller prizes to 4 others.
I really enjoy talking about scripture and I would like to keep my mind focused on God so I thought this might be a nice way to do that and share as well.

I'll post a few questions each day and this ends on October 18th.

All scripture used is KJV and other than that there aren't really any rules, I just want to have a nice discussion. :)

Ok, so first few questions are:

1. In Ecclesiastes 10:19, what answers all things?

2. In 2 Chronicles 9:13, how much gold was brought to Solomon per year?

3. In 2 Kings 9:30-33, who threw down Jezebel?

4. In Jeremiah 44:17, why did they continue to worship the queen of heaven?

5. Where is the holy city and what is it's name according to Revelation 21:2?

I'm so sorry about the first question, I made a typo. It was Ecc 10:19 and here it is in the KJV

1. A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.

I think about this verse a lot, about money answering all things. When I wonder why this bad thing happened or that, the answer is money somewhere.

2. 666 talents of gold, I think this is so interesting because the only other place I have found this number is of course in Rev:

Rev 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

I'm still studying this but this has to be connected to Solomon, as he was known for his wisdom and Revelation really does reveal Christ and opens up the rest of scripture.

3. About Jezebel, the eunuchs yes which is interesting too because ancient goddess worship included eunuchs in her temple.

4. Yes, they continued worshipping the queen of heaven because life was easier, here it is in the KJV:

Jer 44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

Christ said we would have tribulation and worshipping our Father in heaven isn't easy in this world, in fact it can be quite hard. They didn't want hardship, only good things, but yet God provides both blessings and trials for our good. I thought it was telling too, when they said, "we will certainly do whatever thing goes out of our own mouth", how many times I have said that! Wanted things MY own way and it was not good for me and was also in disobedience to God. Very convicting verse for me.

5. Here is Rev 21:2:
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Wow, a lot here, the holy city, new Jerusalem comes down from heaven. It makes me think of this verse too:
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
and this:

Hebrews 11:13-16
13These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

A heavenly city, the holy city, above, free..a better country is what I desire too. I feel like a stranger on this earth as well.

Thank you so much for your answers! :)

1. Isaiah 30:20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:

This helps me a lot when I am suffering, I know that God has sent it to me to teach me and that suffering is never meaningless, no matter if I don't understand it at the time. It is comforting to me to know there is a reason even if I can't see it and that God is teaching me something.

2. Psalm 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

This has meant so much to me over the years. I was diagnosed with a rare heart condition when I was 30 and told to plan my funeral. I couldn't make sense of it then, I was so confused because I thought God only gave me good things, not bad. Now I see why I got sick and I am extremely grateful for it. Just like this verse says, that I might learn His statutes. I've learned so much and if I'm so thankful that I got sick or else I would not have drawn close to God or learned about Him. I learned how to live by facing death, I learned His truth instead of believing lies and life is so much sweeter knowing how precious it is.

3. Job 2:9-10 9 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. 10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

This is so interesting. First, if you back up to verse 5 in Job 2, this is what Satan wanted for Job to curse God. So he used his wife to speak these words to Job. Job knows immediately what spirit that is and rebukes her. Just as Eve is used to influence Adam, here Job's wife is used to influence Job. Amazing and this story plays out still today, each and every day. Incredible with all that happened to Job that he knows this is from God's hand, both good and evil. Like many of us, we don't understand why but rest assured that God has a purpose. Job is blessed with more at the end than he had to begin with. All things working together for the good of those who love Him, indeed.

4. Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Prophecy fulfilled by Christ and recorded here:

Mark 15
1And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to Pilate. 2And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest it. 3And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. 4And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. 5But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.

Oh how I have defended myself when I was guilty and Christ was innocent and didn't open His mouth. Makes me sit down and hush, very convicting.

5. Genesis 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Christ is the Word and on each page of the Old Testament, He is there. Joseph is a picture of Christ here, he forgave his brothers and knew it was for good, all the evil they did to him. The result is that many were saved. Exactly like Christ suffering the evil done by us for our salvation. Forgiving us for our sins and for the salvation of many.

Thank you again for answering today! :) 11|1|Day 3|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|12:33:25|10/14/2011|

5. Genesis 49:28-33 Which wife was Jacob buried with? 12|2|Day 3|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|01:06:38|10/15/2011|

1. Philippians 4:6-8
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

This helps me so much not to worry and instead to bring my concerns to God and thank Him for what He has already done. That peace that does pass understanding does keep my heart and mind calm and joyful. Whenever bad things come up I try not to dwell on them but I think of those true things, honest things, pure and lovely things. If I ponder all those long enough I will forget what I was worried about in the first place. It takes my fear away and replaces it with joy and thanksgiving.

My husband writes me a note each morning and leaves it on the coffemaker for me with my coffee already ground and ready to go. He always signs part of the note with Phil 4:6-8 and it always makes me smile. He knows I can worry about his dangerous job and he reminds me each day that God cares for us all.

2. Psalm 51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

David's repentant prayer to God after adultery and murder. When we sin it is done against God alone, no matter how many people we hurt, it is against Him. This makes me fear God because when I sin, I have not just hurt another person but I have directly sinned against God and that is a dreadful place to be. If we are aware of who we are actually lying to, hating or spitting in the face, if we know it is Him and not just another person then we might think twice before we do it. This helps me focus on the spiritual aspect of my sin and the great magnitude of it.

3. John 1:12-13
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

We were born again not by our will but by God's. We were dead in our sins and could not see or believe, I'm grateful for God's great work in bringing me to life. I did nothing at all, all glory to God.

4. Genesis 29:30
And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.

Jacob loved Rachel more than Leah because she was more appealing to the flesh. A picture of us all when we were focused on the flesh and not the spirit. Like us all, Jacob was born after the flesh until born of the spirit and Rachel is a picture of the flesh in many ways. She was a liar, a thief and much trouble for Jacob. So much more to say about this but I'll leave it at that.

5. Genesis 49:28-33
28 All these are the twelve tribes of Israel: and this is it that their father spake unto them, and blessed them; every one according to his blessing he blessed them. 29 And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, 30 In the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre, in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought with the field of Ephron the Hittite for a possession of a buryingplace. 31 There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife; there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife; and there I buried Leah. 32 The purchase of the field and of the cave that is therein was from the children of Heth. 33 And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.

Jacob was buried with Leah. In the end (and it is all about the latter end of things), he was with Leah. Leah is a picture of Christ, of the spirit, had many children and praised God even though she was hated. Rachel died in childbirth on the way to Bethlehem and was buried on the way. Mary, as you know, was with child on the way to Bethlehem and did not perish in the way. Christ is the Word, on each and every page, so much more to study here.

1. Isaiah 59:15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.

This has happened to me before, when I want to repent and turn away from doing some evil and instead I speak out against it, I am suddenly attacked. It is so easy to get along and tolerate all sorts of things but when you take a stand and try to speak out against a wrong, the crowd would prefer that you just hush up. And it is so true, you have made yourself a prey to whoever doesn't like to hear the truth about a matter. Just like this verse says, it displeases the Lord that there is no judgment and the following verse is:

16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.

There was no man, no intercessor and remains so, there is but One and that is Christ. I'm grateful for this because my heart is desperately wicked and I need His righteousness because I have none.

2. Proverbs 26:28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

This is a very convicting verse, every time I have lied to someone I actually hated that person. Lies are a serious matter and there are no little ones. If God is love and I claim to be His child, I have no business with hateful lies. About the flattering mouth working ruin, how true this is! You can be sure if someone is flattering you that they are about to attack you in some fashion. Kinda like softening you up for the kill. Your guard will be down and no matter how lovely it sounds there are evil intentions behind the pretty words. It reminds me of this verse too:

2 Cor 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

A flattering mouth is one of his devices, one of his tools used to steal, kill and destroy. Beware of this device and try to ponder what other devices satan uses to hurt us.
Also this verse:

Proverbs 7:21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

Lovely words that sound like light but are actually deep darkness. Proverbs 7 is a huge study and I find something new each time I read it. Many of satan's devices are here and this is just one of them. He is also disguised as an angel of light but has no light, no truth. The moon looks bright at night, the lesser light to rule the night. Did you know the moon's light is only a reflection from the sun? It has no light at all, it only looks like it does. I pray for discernment in this matter, to know the difference between a sincere compliment and praise or just a flattering mouth that seeks some ruin.

3. Proverbs 27:5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.

To openly rebuke is better than secret love because those who are God's children are rebuked and disciplined. Much like when we correct our children, we do so because we love them. It is far better to be loved by God and to be rebuked than to be left in our sins. It shows that He loves us, like this says:

Hebrews 12:5-11
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

4. Romans 9:1-3
1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost, 2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. 3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

If Paul could wish for himself to be accursed from Christ for his brethren, his family according to the flesh, he would. Of course this isn't possible but what great love this is! Do we love others this much? Do we love our family (that is, our family in the flesh not the Spirit) enough that if we could wish to be seperated from Christ for them, would we? Do I feel this way about strangers? My enemies? Those who have hurt me? This is very convicting and I would ask that God fill my heart with such great love.

Which brings me to the last question:

5. John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Christ laid down His life for us and He calls us friends:

John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

There is no greater love, God is love and while we were His enemies He laid down His life for us. Now we are His friends when once we were against Him, we served ourselves, we loved ourselves and not Him.

Col 1:29 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.

All glory and praise to God that while I was His enemy, while I loved my wicked works and hated His wondrous works, while I wanted to be wise in my own eyes but was really a fool, He saved me. While I was breathing out slaughterings like Saul (Paul):

Acts 9
1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? 5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

I was pricked in the heart too and it is hard to kick against them:

Acts 2
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

If you find it hard to love your enemies remember that you too were His enemy and He loved you and laid down His life for your salvation. This is very humbling for me and I ask God to give me that love that fills my heart with forgiveness and love for even my most bitter enemies. That same great love that caused Paul to have great sorrow for his brethren, that unspeakable love that Christ showed us by laying down His life is what I pray for us all.

Jessica, thank you very much for posting answers, I'm so encouraged that at least someone is reading all this, I really appreciate it! :)
I'm having a great time doing this and really enjoying digging into scripture, thank you all for allowing me the space here to do so. :) 18|1|Day 5|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|13:51:41|10/17/2011|

1. Revelation 11:3-6

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. 6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

Power to shut heaven, that it doesn't rain and power over waters to turn them into blood and strike the earth with plagues. The two witnesses do these things so I looked and found that there were two who did exactly these things. Which leads me to the next question:

2. Exodus 7:20 20 And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

Moses had power over the river and all the waters were turned into blood. Amazing! Revelation opens up the rest of scripture, the wording here in Exodus is very similar to Revelation so this is a direct link to Moses. As for the plagues, we all know the 10 plagues that came upon Egypt by God working through Moses.

3. 1 Kings 17:1

1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Elijah had the power to shut heaven and stop the rain. It was according to his word, another power that the two witnesses have in Revelation 11.

4. Luke 4:25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

More proof that Elijah had power to shut heaven and stop the rain. Amazing! There was also great famine during that time. Much more for me to study here, about the famine in Revelation and the famines in the past as well.

5. Matthew 17:1-4

1 And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, 2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. 3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. 4 Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.

Yep, you guessed it. With Christ on the high mountain, when He was transfigured, appeared Moses and Elijah! So much to say here! My conclusion is that Moses and Elijah are those two witnesses as they have the exact powers that Revelation says they will have. Also reminds me of this:

Matthew 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Moses gave them the law from God and Elijah was a great prophet of God and there with Christ on the mountain, Moses and Elijah! This is so interesting! And this:

Matthew 11
11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. 13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come. 15He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

All the law and prophets prophesied until John, who was the one to come in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way of the Lord. So interesting and so much more for me to study here. One other thing about the transfiguration that is so amazing to me, how did Peter, James and John know that it was Moses and Elijah? It had to be known spiritually, those in Him really are of the same spirit. 21|1|Day 6|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|16:28:55|10/18/2011|

1. John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

We are to use righteous judgment and not judge by the appearance.

2. Romans 2:1

1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

It is unrighteous judgment to judge another for a sin and all the while doing the very same sin yourself. You must rebuke and warn your brother or sister but to do so while you are yourself guilty of the same is unrighteous judgment, it is hypocrisy.

Matthew 23
27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. 28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

3. Isaiah 6:5
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah not only said that he had unclean lips but that he dwelled with people who did as well. And the reason he knew this is because his eyes had seen the King, the Lord. This is the same response by others in scripture after seeing the Lord. Isaiah wasn't only laying judgment on the people but he also confessed his own sins, this was righteous judgment.
Others in scripture have known how unclean they were too after seeing the Lord:

Job 40
1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

Luke 18:13
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

The publican was so ashamed to even look up into heaven because of his sin because he knew he was a sinner, this is beautiful. He went to his house justified instead of the Pharisee who thought he was righteous. Godly sorrow is good as it leads to repentance and it is a great gift from God:

2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

2 Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Psalm 83:16 Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

4. Luke 13:34

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

Jerusalem killed the prophets, all that were sent to her. That is why Christ tells the Pharisees that they are the children of those who have done so:

Matthew 23
29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, 30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. 31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. 32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. 33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

This is also in the parable of the vineyard, they killed all that were sent to her and then sought the Son at the last:

Luke 20
9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time. 10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty. 11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty. 12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out. 13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. 15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them? 16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Jezebel did the very same, in 1 Kings 21. She set up false witnesses against Naboth to get his vineyard and have him killed. This too is a picture of what was done to Christ.

5. Genesis 2:16-17
16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

The commandment was given to Adam (the man), Eve was not yet created. This is why sin passes through Adam. Eve was deceived and confused as you can see in Genesis 3 during her conversation with the serpent she added words to the commandment that God never said:

Genesis 3
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

Eve added "neither shall ye touch it", God did not say this and it is very telling because many today add to His word as well because they are deceived. The serpent first got her to doubt God's word and then she added to His word. This is a very common tactic used by satan today, he will get you to doubt God and His word. I pray for discernment on this very often because I know that as a woman I am easier to deceive. 23|1|Day 7|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|13:18:33|10/19/2011|

1. Isaiah 5:23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

The wicked are justified for reward, there is something to gain by doing so. Selfishness plays a huge part here and even the most tender and loving of people will justify the wicked to gain some sort of reward. If only we cared more about God and others instead of ourselves then the wicked wouldn't be justified and the innocent would not be condemned. This matter disturbs me each and every single day with so much injustice in this world. Every day I am grieved over the wicked being justified and the innocent condemned, they have no idea that Christ is the innocent One they are truly condemning.

Micah 6:11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?

Exodus 23:7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.

2. Proverbs 6:16-19

16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Not only does God hate these and call them each an abomination but those who are God's children hate these as well. I do hate and greatly loathe sin in myself and others and it bothers me more these days than it did in the past. Some things I would find "innocent" or "good", I have since learned were an abomination and filthy before God. I pray that these things that God hates will be the things that I hate as well.

3. Proverbs 8:11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Wisdom is better than rubies and any other thing you might desire, so true that it can't be compared to anything at all. Everything in this world is nothing compared to wisdom. And not the wisdom of this world, that is actually foolishness:

1 Corinthians 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

And BY the wisdom of this world they didn't know God:

1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

This was one thing promised to Eve, she would be wise and oh how the world is wise without God! We are not wise without God, we are nothing but brilliant fools, ever learning and never coming to a knowledge of the truth:

2 Timothy 3
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Even the foolishness of God is wiser than men:
1 Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

4. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

I love Ecclesiastes, Solomon is pondering everything about life and how it is all so meaningless and then the conclusion is this. It is all that matters, if you wonder why you are here, what your life means, it is summed up here. Fear God and keep His commandments. The meaning of life, the duty we have here.

5. Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

Come! Let him that is thirsty come and take of the water of life freely! This is so beautiful to me. He is coming quickly and I pray that God opens hearts and eyes to understand and see and opens ears to hear. Amen.
