Unless your looking for the portability of the Kindle just wanted to let you know you can download the Kindle app to your PC or even Mac.
They also offer it for the Ipad, android and other platforms.
I downloaded the PC application few months ago because there have been free cookbooks offered and I just downloaded the Kindle PC application and then the free cookbooks.

last Sat. for $79. The biggest advantage is its portability. Some libraries are offering free downloADS. As for its magnifying aboloty, Wundows 7 also have the magnifying ability. While everything can be done on a computer, does not beat snuggleing on a sofa, etc.
I won one, but gave it away, because it is too slow reading a book with the magnifying featuring. Too slow while reading read a book. as large as I need it--I researched these before I bought mine and decided the Nook was the one for me, also if I have a problem with it
I can just go to Barnes and Noble and get the help I need--I have had mine going on 2 years and have never had any problems with it
I really love to read but with my cataracts it was getting difficult for me to read a book and my Nook was the answer to all of those problems
and I have read authors that I had never even heard if before as I download free book from pixelofink website. They send me an e-mail daily
with several free books and some that may cost 99 cents.
