Would your bank rip up a out of state check and say they cant cash it??? LOL I can see not cashing a out of state check but to rip it up?? LOL so just deposit it. I have a trade going on over DUE as it is. They never sent there item and now says the bank ripped the check. I then said why did you not send your end and held it?? no answer to that just dont want to trade so Im out and they keep the item. ANd now they want to send something I dont want at all I just want the check ,the money or the item we traded for back. Now she said NSF check what a joke had a checking act for over 35years and nothing and the bank would never tell her if there is funds or not

"ripped" the check? I didn't take her words to mean "tore up deliberately" Or maybe she accidentally ripped and is blaming the bank...
There may be communciation problems....
as for the bank telling you whether the person has sufficient funds... my mom had a tenant whose checks frequently bounced. I was the trustee for one of her accounts. She gave me his rent check and told me to wait a few days ..I forget why. I did wait and when I went to the bank with the check, I asked them if it was going to clear and they looked it up and said no. They said he had sufficient funds in his account when he wrote her the check but since then he had written several more checks and now had insufficient funds... It seems logical that a bank will tell you whether a check is going to clear vs whether you will be charged Ins Funds fee....

money will not be taken out of your account Second a bank can nottell you if there are funds in ones account if the account isn't written on an account from that bank this was an out of state check so they wouldn't know unless the person uses the same bank in their state It seems you are going to have to wait till your next statement to know for sure if the check was cashed unless you wantto stop payment on the check take the loss of that fee and move on The fact the other trader wants to send you something else hints that they in fact cashed the check and double tradeed the item you wanted If they cash it and you get nothing report them people like this need to be exposed as bad traders 6|4|See other posts SHe said the check was good just outof state so it was NOT nsf she lyed|STEVE|STEVBOLT@WMIS.NET|08:13:05|10/09/2011|

I mean that would just be asking for trouble and drama wouldnt it? I NEVER accept checks for any reason as twice I have been burned.
