I am shopping around for an iPad2 and have been browsing eBay. I have seen a couple of listings of sellers selling an EMPTY iPad box which contains no manual or cords....just empty! The bidding on this particular empty box is up to $127.50 with $15.00 shipping!!! Why would someone pay so much for an empty box? I must be missing something!

That someone bought a used one in really good condition and they want to pass it off as new and they need the box for it so they can give it as a gift or they want the box to pull off some sort of scam but yeah that's really strange. Carol 2|2|That's actually against ebay policy|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|21:25:31|10/07/2011|

You're not allowed to sell empty boxes like that. I'm surprised someone would pay so much though...that's crazy.

There were even some drawings (very rudimentary ones at that) and they were getting bids. Are people not reading??? 5|2|It is against the rules Robin, but ebay is not the best at policing stuff|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|10:54:47|10/08/2011|

There used to be an option to report such listings, but I couldn't find it. 6|3|Sue, the scam might be......|Beaglesfly|lmllr77@aol.com|10:56:17|10/08/2011|

To turn around and list the empty box making it seem like there's something in it. Run 5 auctions like that at once, collect the money that comes in, and then disappear into the wind only to do it again with another ebay id. 7|4|Well Lauren that's a very sad scenario if people have to stoop that low!|Gammiesue|snschapin@yahoo.com|11:55:38|10/08/2011|

I can't imagine them getting away with it, not to mention living with yourself! Sad...sad...sad!

I love my computer because my friends live in it. 8|5|No idea how expensive these things are, but what popped into my head was, someone who wanted to return a broken or damaged one, but no longer had the box. If it was expensive enough, it may be worth buying the box. Again I would assume it would depend on how expensive the item is. Just my thought. |dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|12:37:30|10/08/2011|

If you are a HONEST trader, there is nothing to fear in having a feedback link. If you do not have one, please set one up, BEFORE contacting me for a trade. If you insist on not having a feedback link, please do not contact me to trade. Feedback links protect all of us, on RS. Thanks for understanding. Donna 9|6|Donna, I am thinking that too, someone is wanting the box so they can return their broken/damaged item back to the store, as all stores |HONEY11|HONEY1@AMERITECH.NET|14:29:34|10/08/2011|
