well u can use a soda can inside too. my grandma use to make this for christmas time and they were nice........ya use the can for stability.

Just that there's a picture of a Christmas village with pine trees all chroched. They all loke like good size buildings, even a church with a steple. Inside the book it says this. it requires only bedspread weight crochet cotton and a steel crochet hook. Does that help?
