8 0|0|Permanent marker on white enamel roaster help?|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|20:26:34|09/27/2011|

I was fortunate enough to have an elect. roaster given to me for free but it has some initials written on the lid in black permanent marker. Does anyone know of an easy tip to remove the permanent marker w/out damaging the enamel on it? I tried a regular eraser & altho it lightened it a tad, that's all it did.
The roaster looks like the one in the link below except mine's white.
Any help is greatly appreciated? Thanks! :)

I did think of trying rubbing alcohol but I worry that it or nail polish remover might mar the enamel finish? Could it?
I think I have some tennis balls around somewhere (finding them back is another story. LOL) so if that doesn't work, I'll try a Magic Eraser. If no luck there, I'll brave it & go w/one or the other of nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol.
If anymore ideas, I'm open to them. :)
Thanks again! :)

I know I don't have any car polish (gave up on waxing/polishing yrs. ago. LOL) but it's sure got me curious about what's in OFF & car polish that would remove permanent marker. Hmmm....

can't imagine why it wouldn't work on enamel then. It didn't damage the furniture at all and I was surprised it came off. It was a sharpie marker that my daughter used to color on the end of my sleigh bed.
