Hi folks! Welcome, all (32) of you, to my little RAOK event. Here are the
rules: I will post a series of questions every few days (Level One, Level Two,
etc.) for you to answer as best you can. The answers will need to be correct
(including spelling where needed). Email me your answers to each Level of
questions, and I will grade then on accuracy. I will then post the answers and
results of each player here at RS for you all to look at.
At the end of the RAOK, after all the answers received have been checked for
accuracy, the final results will be posted here at RS...and the Top 3 Winners
will receive the prizes offered during the sign-up process. Final determination
of the winner will be strictly random (as calculated by random.org).
Please note that each Level of questions will have end dates that must be
adhered to. Sending in your answers after a cut-off date will DQ your answers
for that Level. Skipping a Level (failing to email your answers) will
automatically DQ you from the RAOK. Once your anwers have been emailed to me
the first time, they cannot be changed or added to...all answers you send in are
final. So please check your answers before sending them to me. You must be
diligent to remain in the RAOK event. All answers can be found on the internet,
through your favorite search engine. I make the final determination as to which
answers to accept (based on relevence to the questions and accuracy).

sorry to see you drop out. However, if you had been paying attention, the sign-up sheet DID list the prizes offered. And...if you had not kept dropping out in previous RAOK's of mine, you would have known the sort of questions you would encounter.
Mightymom...if you run across that problem again, you can always just right-click the "Send an email to ****" -- found on the right hand side of the screen of everyone's posts -- to get the email address of that person, without having to use Live Mail. Then you can simply copy/paste the email address into your own email program. I am disappointed in the low turnout of players who actually bothered to enter this RAOK. Only (13) players out of (32). And those thirteen players are the people who usually enter my RAOK's and seem to have fun doing so. I put a lot of time and energy (not to mention money) into these RAOKs...they aren't just "potlucks", as one player stated as a reason for entering. Too many people simply want something for nothing...and now I know who those people are. The RAOK events that I host are usually interesting, the prizes are good, and all the answers are easily found through a search engine like Google, Bing, or Yahoo.
To the thirteen people who bothered to enter, I APOLOGIZE for the inconvenience and disappointment. Now you know how I feel at putting in a bit of effort, only to see piss-poor results. If the following thirteen players will send their NAZ to me, I will send them each a 12-oz bag of gourmet coffee. Those thirteen players are:

someone is given a list of words for colors printed in varicolored ink and asked

Most everyone had some form of these answers...and that was fine. Some players put very little detail in their answers (which would have been counted wrong), and a few players seemed to have done no research at all, providing wrong answers on several of the questions. That would have been most unfortunate for them, especially if they continued down that path. hehehe

And though I think you are extremely kind for offering the fun games you do, I think it's rather insensitive to blast people and telling us to be ashamed when you have no idea of the reason why they were unable to follow through.
You could have just as easily continued with your game with those that has responded in a timely manner, without calling out those who didn't get their answers back to you in time without calling them out......

I didn't because the questions were boring, not fun. I played and won a nice prize when you did your first one. That one was fun. You didn't give enough time for so many questions that required research...especially when a) they were not overly interesting and b) there was wild card baseball on all week for those of us in Boston.
People may all have their own reasons for not playing....but there were too many who stopped. Consider that the problem may have been on your end.

most of the sign-ups didn't "follow through". It's due to the fact that before I posted the first questions, these people thought they would sign-up for some easy RAOK...like guessing a color or a child's name, or something else that takes no effort at all. Once these people saw the questions, they realized that they would have to bust a brain cell by looking up the answers...heaven forbid! All of a sudden, the RAOK looked like work.
Not only did these people not play the first Level, they didn't bother to let me know in advance that they were gonna "drop out" or "not play" because of some reason or another. And it is not about continuing the RAOK event with only 13 players. I expected 32 players to start out playing instead of taking the easy way out and not letting me know.
Besides, suezz...you didn't sign-up to participate, so what's your problem here? The 13 who did bother to send in answers to the RAOK event, will receive a generous "consolation prize". That will be approx. $100 out of my own pocket dearie. I certainly don't see anyone else here at RS offering such prizes with their RAOKs. I have the money to offer these prizes, and I enjoy (rather, enjoyed) holding the RAOKs here. But I'm not gonna keep wasting my time and money setting up and following through on an RAOK event here at RS, when so few even care.

Nowhere in your rules did you state that you would cancel if you were not paid appropriate homage for your generosity. You said those people who did not submit answers would be DQed.....so do that and continue the game with the people who did submit answers, although I am guessing by your comments that even those people were not overly careful in their research.
As I said, the problem may have been on your end.....and you will not consider that, preferring to blame those lazy women who figured they would be playing a fun game. Silly broads.

I've actually had medical issues to deal with, and i jump on and off just to finish things..
I love playing the games you've held.. geez..i could go on..but i have real life and real issues to deal with.

I have never "bashed" any of the players who may have had incorrect answers in the past. Just because I have a few rules to follow in the RAOKs, and enforce them, doesn't mean that those who enter get free reign to send in any old answer they please. Not if they wish to have a chance at being a "winner" in the RAOK. My RAOK -- my rules. So it takes a bit of effort. It's the mark of a good player who takes the time (all of like 10 minutes usually) to look up information and post the correct answers. Is that so hard? I don't think so. And yes, I will let players know when their answers are subpar...which I have always done, btw. It is not bashing anyone, but it is an attempt to keep the players from straying from the rules of the RAOK event. And, as other players have stated, it's all in good fun. I don't need a "pat on the back" or any of that nonsense.

I have to have my gullblader removed. Surgery was scheduled for 2 weeks ago, but they
had to cancell surgery. I have an infection in my system. They cant do surgery until
sometime in Oct. I have to go back to the doc next week and be retested to see if
the infection is gone before surgery.
So I have not been feeling to well. I have still been working everyday. And trying to
keep up with daily activities. I have not been on the chat boards much. I know I have
missed out on alot of deals and things over the last few weeks.
I am very sorry you feel we messing up all roaks for you. But sometime we just cant
live every minute online.
