Most of this week has been spent searching for all of this information. One person had the Will, another knew of this and another knew of that and so on.
Also be aware the cemetary plots and opening and closing of the grave prepayments that were made back in the 1980's don't always smoothly transfer to a company's computer files.
Paid if full insurance policies from 20 something years ago will be a pain in the rear thanks to the insurance companies of today.
Cemetaries will claim they lost the paperwork. Expect the worse.
My Grandfather was a BIG believer of having EVERYTHING all set for his and my Grandma's funeral from start to finish so there would be no problems but unfortunately he died 24 years ago.
So folks, save yourself a ton of stress and get all of this information together if you have it.
And oh yeah, Ladies can be pall bearers :)

not what you want to be dealing with when you are grieving.
my mom and I have been working through all her details because I know what a nightmare it can be on the other end. She has put everything into a security box,that I have a key for.

thankfully she had made out her insurance policies to funeral home, She had 4 policies all made out to different people and I told her they could cash them and keep the money, so go ther to chance it to the funeral home.She didn't leave much but what little she had has to be taking care of,utilities turned off ect. then it seems like everything I do my other brother and sisters don't like, BUT no one offers to help. I know it can be such a mess. 
I asked my Mom to get her "things" in order, and tell at least one of us kids where to find it. She told all of us where the info was. I did not aks to look at any of it as I did not want to break down crying. But, it is good to know she has it organized and in one spot.
My husband and I need to take care of our final planning! We don't have kids, so we are going to have to ask a couple of our nieces and/or nephews to take care of things when we are gone. We will have it all together so they will just have to pretty much see it all gets done as planned.
Sure is sad to have to think about, but I know it will save a lot of trouble for a lot of people after we pass. I will feel better once we have it all planned.
I kid our nieces/nephews that Mike and I are going to be like Aunt Bethanie and Uncle Louis from Christmas Vacation!!
