I have been using coconut oil for years now to up my fat intake. The more fat I eat and the less carbs, the better I feel. Thank you for the article, going to print it out for my sister to read. 2|2|I started taking organic virgin coconut oil for almost a year now...|Sharon|corvettelady@lavabit.com|09:57:43|09/21/2011|

and I've never felt better. Started reading books on the health benefits of coconut oil which for the past 50+ years has been called the "bad fat". I use this primarily in cooking as well as olive oil & ghee. Since I changed by diet eating more good fats & less carbs, I've never felt better. The standard American diet has been denatured so much that it's not fit for us to eat, which is why so many people are sick, diseased and die early. 4|3|I use nutiva|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|19:14:13|09/21/2011|

nutiva extra virgin organic coconut oil, haven't tried other brands but I like nutiva and amazon usually has good deals on it.
I agree about our diet causing so many health problems and it drives me crazy how they push whole grains as "healthy", low fat as "healthy", making cholesterol out to be a monster when it isn't. I feel my best when I eat low carb veggies, high fat meats, eggs and supplement with coconut oil. Olive oil is great too and I wish these healthy fats weren't so expensive! I also just recently found out about the dangers of bromine and am avoiding that as well. I take iodine supplements too, to try and push out the heavy metals. Pretty much everything the "experts" recommend is harmful so I usually do the exact opposite of what they recommend. Sad but true, there is a lot of propaganda about foods and unless you search it out for yourself, you may end up very sick and never knowing why. 5|4|I have bought the Nutiva as well. My favorite is the Radiant Life, but very expensive as|driller|harj@frontier.com|19:55:38|09/21/2011|

I buy it by the gallon. :)

Also on my list that I take >>> Green pasture Blue Ice fermented cod liver oil, Standard Process Garlic 5000mg,
Grainfields Australia Super Greens & Dunaliella, and of course fermented saurkraut as a side with every meal along
with about half cup of bone broth, either beef m pork or chicken grass fed only. I make all of my broths and freeze in pint
freezer jars.

I do eat alot of fresh veggies and fruits, mostly all organic whenever possible. I try to freeze when in season, so
I can have at later date. I do try to have at least one meat a day if not more. Either bacon, breakfast sausage,
pork , beef or chicken. I do on occasion, when I can afford have wild catch salmon, Mahi Mahi, or tuna. I do also eat
alot of stonyfield WHOLE MILK yogurt. Is the only yogurt I will eat as well as homemade kefir, kombucha tea and alot
of raw cheeses. And I eat tons of my raw butter that I make myself. Can`t seem to get enough of it. Is so good, sometimes
when I get a headache, I get out the butter and eat at least a teaspoon or two and the headache goes away. Just something
that I found out on my own. I guess everyone has to find what works for them.

Mostly I go by the way my body reacts and feels. I use mostly raw honey for sweetener as well as stevia and unrefined
sugars. Been drinking my raw milk & cream and also get unwashed farm eggs, all soy free. I will not buy milk, cream
eggs or any meats from a major supermarket or store. All are bought at local farms.

My farm lady Kris is very good about having NO GMO`S, anywhere on her property. All of her herd of cows, pigs, turkeys
and chickens are soy free and only eat grass , pastured, outdoors all the time, and in off season they get fed the hay
that she grows herself and puts up. Very labor intense, but she cares so much for all of her farm buddies. :)

I still do alot of research , just to try to keep up.

:)

and stock up when it's on sale. I hesitated taking it at first because I hate the smell and taste of coconut!! I first tried Nutiva and Barlean's which had too strong of a coconut taste for me then I tried Tropical Traditions which was more milder for me so staying with this brand.
The lowfat diet has been a scam since day one. We need cholesterol and our bodies make more if needed otherwise you will die! Another scam to get you on cholesterol lowering drugs. The real culprit is Homocysteine not cholesterol! Homocysteine is the new cholesterol and is believed to be one of the major causes of heart disease today as well as strokes, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease and potentially more than 100 other diseases. Homocysteine is an amino acid that is found naturally in the blood. Too much of this is toxic and is an indicator of whether you are likely to live long or die young. I read the book called "The H Factor Solution" by James Braly M.D. & Patrick Holford. A very interesting read and tells you how to lower your homocysteine levels.
I also take iodine drops daily as well as a glass of water with lemon juice and apple cider vinegar upon rising for it's good health benefits. I also drink raw milk, take krill oil, Vitamin D3, and few other supplements. I use stevia/xylitol sweetener in my fresh brewed iced teas and occasionally raw honey.
I agree it is so important to do your research on how to stay healthy eating organic vegetables/fruits, good fats (coconut oil, olive oil, ghee/grass-fed butter, free-range eggs, raw whole milk/cream, grass-fed meats), wild fish (not farmed), nitrate-free deli meats/bacon, etc. Oh, I also cook using lots of fresh herbs for flavor! 10|5|tropical traditions|cinda68|lacinda68@gmail.com|13:46:57|09/22/2011|

Coconut oil right out of the jar for five years now. I can`t express how much it gives energy, and I have
not gained any weight, but rather lost.

My favorite brand is Radiant Life, then Tropical Traditions, and of course Wilderness Family Naturals.

There are others, but I would not recommend them. They do not compare to the taste of the above brands.

Only other brand that I would buy , would be Whole Foods brand . Guess I am just too picky when it comes
to eating it out of the jar. But I also use for mostly all of my cooking along with sometimes using Olive Oil.

Thanks
Sharon. I have to answer your emails, a little behind lately with all that has been going on. :)

I am trying to get dad to do his research on the coconut oil, so he may be able to get mom to start
eating it in her diet. It can not hurt her and I am hoping it will help with her issues.......

~Judy in MI~ 6|2|Forgot to add , I also take Pure Radiance C|driller|harj@frontier.com|20:06:57|09/21/2011|

which is a blend of , Camu Camu Berry extract, Manioc Root (Manihot utilissima), Acerola Berry extract,
Amla Berry extract, Buckwheat Berry Sprouts, Freeze dried berry blend: Blueberry, Raspberry, Cranberry,
Cherry, Rose Hips Fruit, Lemon Peel, Black Pepper Berry extract.

This is very tasty. I just mix in alittle water and drink down. But if you don`t like the taste, you can
always put in a smoothie. :)
