10 0|0|restless leg syndrome - anyone take medication?|KellyJef|burke3536@yahoo.com|09:33:40|09/17/2011|

I have it so bad :(

I've been on mirapex for a few months with absolutely no success.

The doctor wants to know if I want to try requip, but I'd like to know if anyone has tried a medication. 1|1|I also have it Very Bad - See Inside|Newman|BenjiBubbles@gmail.com|11:02:39|09/17/2011|

I've had it for over 35 years now. Very Nasty. But, I take Requip XL 2 MG, one tablet nightly, prior to going to bed and it stops any movements in my legs. Very seldom, this medication does not work, when that happens, then I have to take my Prescribed Pain Medication (Oxycontin)that I take for my constant pain in my back/neck area and Peripheral neuropathy in both legs. 2|1|Funny you should post this....I have it, too, and this week has been so much worse.|hudge4|hudge95@yahoo.com|12:50:24|09/17/2011|

I got online this morning to see what I can do about it. This last week has been really bad.

But thank goodness Mirapex works for me. I take 6 mg. at night and 3 mg. every morning and haven't had a bad night in months!!! Requip did nothing for me. Isn't it funny how medication works for one person and not another? I'm wishing you luck in getting help because RLS can drive you literally crazy! Only somebody else that has it can understand the feeling.

Please leave me feedback if we have had a favorable trade and I will do the same for you!

I'm only taking .5 mg at night. You're taking 9 mg a day?

Guess I'll ask my doctor if I can try a higher dose.

I have to try something -- I'm really suffering cause I have it during the day, too. I use a CPAP machine at night so it actually isn't as bad at night as far as keeping me awake.

4|1|Did you try the Ivory soap trick?|hudge4|hudge95@yahoo.com|00:56:52|09/18/2011|

Put an unwrapped bar under bottom sheet somewhere between the hip and knee area. Some say put the bar of soap (one on each leg) within the Pj bottoms. Something about negative/positive ions or magnesium in the soap works to stop leg cramps and RLS. I read about this online today and have to say I am skeptical about this old wives tale. From the several forums I went to, though, about 90% say it works.

Gonna try it tonight and let you know!!

(meant to say I'm taking 9 mg. a day)
The restlesness was even spreading to my arms!!! So I really needed some heavy duty medicating and I thank God every morning when I wake up without any symptoms the night before!!! Believe me I would take any amount of Mirapex to NEVER have RLS ever again!!! Maybe you do just need a higher does - .5 mg.isn't very much at all.

Please leave me feedback if we have had a favorable trade and I will do the same for you!

I take gabapentin aka is Nerotin.I know I didn't spell it right.
I would hate to have to live w/ it. 9|3|I also have Peripheral neuropathy in both legs, along with my RLS (Restless Legs). The only thing that stops the burning in my both legs is Oxycontin. I've tried every medication that is available. Nothing Works for Me.|Newman|BenjiBubbles@gmail.com|13:14:28|09/19/2011|
