My dad just called me, he's driving himself to the hospital right now. He's not sure what's wrong - his stomach is distended and he has pain in his side.
That leaves my mom by herself, and she's not doing too well these days with the cancer. She doesn't get around too well, and my dad is afraid she might fall and hurt herself with no one there to help her.
I thank God that I'm only a mile down the road and I can check on her....but I'm worried about her too. She's weak and confused at times. I know nothing about what meds she needs to take or anything.
Please pray for this whole situation....I'm calm but a bit freaked out at how it's all going to work out. And I need some wisdom on what to do for my mom if my dad is admitted to the hospital overnight.

Between the kids, the dog, and the mess.....
If need be, we'll go up there with her, but again, not sure how restful it will be for her with two children running around.
It will work out somehow....always does, right?

Or at least they think that's what happened. He just had triple bypass a few years ago, and his doctor a couple of weeks ago said that his heart was looking very good.
They're running more tests and put some tubes in him to drain some fluid.

He definitely has an irregular heart beat and major fluid retention all over his body, but the doctor now says he's not sure that he had a heart attack.
I went over to see my mom - she's upset but ok. I offered to bring over some sleeping bags and sack out there, but she said she'd be okay for tonight. Parents, stubborn as can be.
Anyways, they're just draining all the fluid and getting him stable for now.

So sorry they didn't tell you - I think they're generation thinks that they can't "bother" other people with their problems.
My parents have helped me so many times over the years, I wish they would allow me to help them if I can.
