We're all trying to hang in there & stay positive & strong.
He's getting the stent put in today. It'll go thru the tumor in his esophagus so that he'll be able to keep food down, cough less & keep his airway open.
As it is, even pureed food has been getting stuck, then he'll start coughing & back up the food comes, so he hasn't been getting a whole lot down in his stomach. :(
My one niece's husband is a cancer specialist in Florida so he's been kept informed & consulted w/my bil's dr. here all along on my bil's case. He's in agreement w/everything my bil's cancer dr. here is doing. But from my niece's dh, we've learned that the tumors my bil has on his liver will likely grow together to form 1 big tumor which will eventually cut off the blood supply & functionality of his liver.
It helps my bil to know that everything that can be done is being done, & that he's in good hands, w/the dr. here & w/his son-in-law.
My sister is crying alot & altho she knew from the get-go this was likely where the cancer was heading, she's having a hard time & doesn't know if she can watch him go thru this. It's a pretty helpless feeling. We're all trying to be strong for both of them.
