I go down my basement to do laundry & notice my basement floor is wet all around under my water meter. Sure enough, the "new" water meter that was just put in 9 mos. ago is leaking like a seive.
So... I call the utility office & tell the clerk the "new" water meter is leaking & ask if someone can come asap to fix it. Miss Dense asks me, "Did we put it in"? Well duh! Who else would put in or replace the city-owned elect. & water meters here???
Then when the guy comes, he tells me that the clerk told him it was the gas meter leaking. Again duh! Had it been the dang gas meter leaking I would've grabbed up my dog, gotten the heck out of here & then called the GAS co., NOT the Elect. & Water utility office. Geez Louise!
Now I can see it that this guy today clearly put in a NEW water meter. Whoever the dingle berry was that replaced the meter 9 mos. ago must've gotten that meter out of the salvage yard cuz it was rusty, old & cracked! But then again, putting in "new" water meters last year was just a sneaky ploy for the city to get into people's basements to see who had floor drains, sump pumps, etc. as no basement seepage is supposed to go into the city sewer. I get that part but just be upfront about the REAL reason & DO put in NEW meters; not go about it the sneaky & underhanded way they did just to see who has what in their basements & then slap some piece of salvage crap in to make it look good. :-p
But this is the kind of crap we have to contend w/here. Their minds are so programmed to be crooked & corrupt that any common sense & intelligence is lost by the wayside. Ugh!
