we are almost done with our mortgage...our escrow is actually more than the amount owed on the mortgage. I shot them an email asking if we can use the escrow to pay the mortgage off, and us pay our taxes personally. (they are due 9/15 this year)....Is this feasible? Has anyone done this when they have reached the end of the mortgage? I realize now i should have filed for them to stop taking escrow out since the last tax bill was due in may, but hindsight is always 20-20....

They say they will call within the next 24 hrs in response to my email.... 1|1|I have found that....|Arizona|vbj48@cox.net|18:16:16|08/16/2011|

Usually you have to pay off the mortage and then they will send you a refund check for the amount that is in your escrow account.

But it depends on the lender. Some of the smaller banks are easier to deal with than the huge ones. The big ones usually follow the above protocol.

Congratulations. This is a big event to pay off your mortage. :) 2|1|Here you can't not escrow your property tax until your mortgage is paid. The companies simply dont' allow it.|Kristy|mi3zons1@yahoo.com|23:30:02|08/16/2011|
