We knew the parents of the officer & we also knew the guy who shot him. The cop never had a chance, just shot him in the head w/ a shot gun. Domestic violence. This guy was always in trouble w/ the law.It was a sad day in Freemansburg tonight. He was also the 1st officer killed.
He had 2 little kids ages 3 & 5. It's so very sad.

I got that Office Down email ~ it said he was a 7 year veteran. My heart goes out to the officer, his friends/family, & his department. A DV situation is absolutely THE most dangerous situation you can respond to! The officer came from a "service family", too. His dad had been a long time member of the fire department and a previous chief of the fire department ;-( Sandy
