Well add another chapter to my book....
Haley had her "meet your teachers" today....
apparently when your in high school...your parents don't need
to go with you....WELL guess what...?? I didn't get the memo..I WENT.
I was the ONLY parent..YEP..you read that right..THE ONLY parent there.
Oh man, did that go over well.. BUT with the way I am..I worked it well..

When it was time to go around to each kid and state, name and what they did
for the summer... It came to me..and I'm like.."i'm just a mom, trying to let go"..
the teacher laughed..AND HEY most of the students!! of course, haley wanted to stab me.
OMG I can't believe I was the only parent..Hey...she might be in high school..but
she's my baby!!! 1|1|Good for you ...|flyvanguard|flyvanguard@yahoo.com|19:59:27|08/11/2011|

The parents NEED to go, find out what is up with their kid, and be involved. Our schools beg the parents to come, and we get a decent turnout at the high school, it takes forever to do the conferences because of long lines. The teachers always say they can tell beforehand which parents will show up, because the kids who are doing really well or our very comfortable/confident, their parents always come and are involved. The troublemakers, kids struggling, most of those parents don't come, and those are the ones they really want to talk with about the students, and need the most help.

Is it a public school or private? I would write and complain to the school board, find out if anybody else's schools are doing that. I also cannot believe no other parents showed up anyway, if my kid said it was not for parents, I'd be sure he was just trying to keep me away and would be there for sure

Thanks, Sue Edelmann
3|2|Was this the the first day of school for the kids.? Often, the freshmen just met with their teachers and get a sense of their classes and then the rest of the school starts the next day. Do I have that wrong or was it set up some other way?|suezz|clearys@comcast.net|07:33:39|08/12/2011|
