First thanks for all your prayers it really helped. My hubby finally got a call back from the GI Specialist regarding his liver biopsy. He stated there was fibrosis (this is the stage before cirrhosis and is blocked ducts in liver and little scarring) but not showing cirrhosis as of yet. But the Dr did say to hubby that he wanted to double check with the hospital lab to make sure they got a big enough piece. My hubby said they did it 3 places so I am feeling confident that they got a large enough piece. He has hemochromatosis which is a hereditary disease which his dad has which his body holds on to too much iron and he will have to have a pint of blood taken out each month for the rest of his life. This with the drinking (not crazy drinking just like everyone else) caused the liver problems. We go back to the GI Specialist in 2 weeks for more blood work and whatever else needs to be done.
We still have a road ahead of us as he has fluid build in his abdomen which will need to be removed surgically and monitoring the iron as his levels are super high but they say it takes months and months before that comes down, hopefully it doesn't cause anymore damage to liver. And I am hoping that it doesn't change to cirrhosis as that is another whole can of worms.
Im still praying!! I believe this is what has helped. I will update again in 2 weeks after next drs appt.
