What do you think? Is it pointless? Any advice? (I'm on a busy street)

Thanks for the input! :) Nicole

1|1|it depnds on your rules in your community. Here in Ohio, our garage sales are Th-F-S . Sundays are prohibited. But if you are on a busy street it might be worth it.|kaq214|qmsq8865@aol.com|19:19:36|08/01/2011|

Friday was almost as good as a Saturday because it was pay day for alot of the labor type workers.

I'd look at what days are the most popular paydays for labor type workers in your area (you could ask at the banks or check cashing places). When they have "fresh" cash in hand they are willing to spend it pretty easily.

Usually EARLY (!!!) Thursday is my busiest time, especially if I advertise for collectibles (ball cards, etc.) or old books. It seems like that brings out collectors and/or small business owners looking for things for their shops. In my area (North Kansas City) Thursdays do better than Saturdays. HTH - Sandy

P.S. - Have been in the hospital all day with my MIL who helped at my garage sale this week-end and got over-heated to the point of dehydration so DRINK LOTS OF WATER and STAY COOL 5|2|in our town we are limited to fri and sat or 2 days your choice and you pay 5.00 for a permit and limit 2 a year in your own yard which stinksssss|lydzkydz|lydzmcss@yahoo.com|21:41:22|08/01/2011|

My mom has a garage sale every year Wed-Saturday. Wednesday and Thursday are her busiest days. Friday is very slow, not many people, then Saturday is usually pretty good.

It seems to be the days to do it in this area. I remember when they were Sat & Sun, started expanding to Friday, then Thursday, then Wed and dropping Sunday. She's tried Sundays too but gets almost no traffic.

Don't forget to list it free on Craig's list, my mom gets a lot of traffic from that. I think this year she just did that and didn't pay to put it in the paper.
