There is a strip of great beaches, you can stay in motel, b&b, or home, and the entire street is full of nice restaurants, mini golf, playpark on one spot, lots of stores (beach, clothes, surf), and lots of water sports. I got there lots each year. It isn't cheap but it is beautiful. 4|2|southern beaches in nj inside|BusterBrown|srfreezerqueen@hotmail.com|17:26:06|07/28/2011|

Ok....
free ones
wildwood
strathmere
ac(i think)

towns with boardwalks
wildwood(north, and crest all linked by wildwood)
ocean city
atlantic city
cape may has a promenade....

bit about each
cape may....quaint victorian sea captain homes....big hotels/some bed and breakfast. while they only have the promenade they do have the mall..great little shops lining both sides of several blocks....can be accessed from delaware by the ferry..you can be a foot passenger over....which only works if where you are staying picks you up...you can drive over as well(neither is a cheap option, but with gas prices it may even out)

wildwood crest...just north of cape may....more civilized than wildwood or north wildwood. both wildwood and north are great party towns...several piers on boardwalk have rides multiple miniature golf games

avalon/stone harbor....expensive, quiet(unless you end up in the bar district)...great beaches

sea isle...young and hip....great bar scene

strathmere...small..very quiet but nice

ocean city...dry town, lots of nice resteraunts and shops....boardwalk has rides, miniature golf and lots of shops/rest

ac.....casinos, boardwalk and the walk...outlet stores...great selection....think the walk was just bought by tangers outlet group

hth some.....where ever you book into...ask if they have beach passes for you to use or if you will have to buy your own. Not sure what passes are in season, but most rentals(not to sure about hotels)....have them for you to use..

i am not sure why you had to add negative to a question about the area....I am not a beach bum, heck i live 25 min max from most that i mentioned but have no desire to sit on the beach. I would, however, certainly have mentioned it if there had been any current problems...Not sure where you are from, but i am sure that somewhere in the past there has been some problem there as well... 9|1|im from wild crest our beaches are free & beautiful!!!!!!!!|100651|ccammarano@comcast.net|17:05:38|07/29/2011|

I merely posted a little humor regarding NJ. Don't get bent out of shape over it. I have never lived near or on a beach. My humorous comment was from previous horror stories about NJ and their beaches, from media sources, late night tv shows, and general word of mouth. If I had been serious, I would have included information about nearby hospitals, rescue units, radiation response teams, and the number to the CDC in Atlanta. 13|5|Inthesticks....how was a person from here to take it?|BusterBrown|srfreezerqueen@hotmail.com|22:47:54|07/29/2011|

I am going to figure that you would defend where you live if insulted. If not, i am sorry that you are not proud of it. Jersey has been the butt of ignorant jokes for many years....so it certainly gets old...I hope you understand 14|6|Geez, if you're THAT senstive about...|inthesticks|inthesticks@windstream.net|23:58:47|07/29/2011|

where you live, then for gawd's sake, MOVE! Otherwise, grow a thicker skin. It was a JOKE, nothing more, nothing less. I have endured jokes about where I live (Arkansas) most of my adult life. It comes with the territory. 15|7|Cary...not sensitive..just sick of it...|BusterBrown|srfreezerqueen@hotmail.com|10:04:35|07/30/2011|

but evidently you are not capable of understanding that, and continue to recomment....I am sorry that you have such little pride in where you live that you feel a person should not defend where they live...bless ya for that.. 16|1|NJ voted 2nd cleanest beaches in nation...June 2011..report inside|soccer_mom|jhowarth@wiley.com|10:34:39|07/30/2011|
