We live about 25- 30 miles from Staples so I wait until we have other things to do in the city before I go. This week they've got the paper for .25 after EASY rebate so I went in.. I was in a hurry because my DH was in the car hot, tired, hungry and waiting for me so instead of taking the time to look for the paper myself, I asked an employee. She told me it was "straight ahead in the blue packages". So I went straight ahead, picked up two cuz the rebate is limited to two and when I was checking out, I asked her if I had to send it in or enter the rebate on online and she told me either way..
Now, you would've thought that she would've noticed I had the WRONG blue packages of paper and even when she gave me the cash tape noticing it didn't have the rebate form attached.. *I* didn't notice a thing cuz I was in a hurry, TRUSTED that she knew what she was talking about, and I used a debit card so I didn't even notice that THIS paper was twice as much as the paper that there was a rebate on..
SOOOOOOOOOOO I got ALL the way home, got on the computer, took out my tape and immediately noticed this paper was twice as much.. "HUH. And WHERE is my rebate form that is suppose to be attached?" I went to the Staples website and after some homework, found out this paper wasn't the blue package that had the rebate on it!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!
Lesson learned... Don't trust that the employees to know what they are talking about!!!!

Here are a few other lessons learned:
Always check your cash tape before you walk out the store
Always check whats in your bag when you order through a drive thru
Never trust that the employee is right in what excuse she gives you at the check out
Never hesitate to call the manager
