I don't know what happened here, I planted peppers twice and I still didn't get any plants. I've had peppers in the past though... I first planted some in peat pots.. they disappeared.. So I planted seed directly in the ground.. They never came up.. bummer... Maybe I should've bought plants. OH WELL! I wonder if peppers can be a cool crop and if I started some now, I would get some before winter?

plant and OMG I have 100's of tomatos growing!!! They arent ripe yet but when they are I will be eating tomatos until NEXT summer! lol Good thing I only planted 1 plant!

I bought all my plants ,It was much easier! I have squash, cucumbers, eggplant, watermelon, honey dew melon, tomatos and peppers. Its so rewarding watching the veggies grow everyday. I cant wait to start feeding my family from our crop :) 4|3|I'm jealous. LOL|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|11:18:24|07/13/2011|

I've been SOOOO wanting to have just a small garden. Had a guy promise me last year he'd till a patch for me this spring but I didn't hear back. Guess his tiller broke so he had to get it fixed, & by the time it was fixed, it was too late. :( Just wish I would've known so I could've gotten someone else to till a patch for me. Poo!
I'm anxious to try my hand at the little gardening tricks I learned from my dad.
Nothing like being able to go out in the backyard & grab a few goodies. :)

I don't run a tiller between the rows, so I figure there is less weeding and hoeing when things are close, kind of like square foot gardening, or raised beds. I have been doing it that way for years and get tons every year.

Some of my garden didn't come up and some is flourish like crazy.. Every week I am giving bags of squash and cucumbers to family and friends... I have beets ready to be picked, a watermelon almost ready, and I think all my cantaloupes are going to read all at once.. whereas, I haven't gotten one single tomato and no peppers to speak of.. bummer..

6|2|I think most tomato varieities like it hot & dry, so if you've had alot of rain or not that good drainage, they'll be slow to develope...|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|16:00:04|07/13/2011|

I accidently found out a few yrs. ago that tomatoes are similar to Mother Hen & Chicks in that they love rocks. If you plant tomatoes in a rock garden, the plants will get huge & mutate like crazy. LOL

I know there will be a day when I can no longer do it, and it makes me sad to think of it. My mom had to seed her garden in this year, but she still put a few things close to the house, but I know it made her sad. I am trying to pass on the love of growing to the grandbabies, right now they love to pick and eat raw stuff. So yesterday, we were out there eating raspberries, pea pods, green beans and grape tomatoes, they were saying what else can we eat Nana. Most anything they will eat if you tell them it came from Nanas garden, lol. But like my kids, they don't want to pull a weed.
