We are separating unlimited DVDs by mail and unlimited streaming into two separate plans to better reflect the costs of each. Now our members have a choice: a streaming only plan, a DVD only plan, or both.

Your current $9.99 a month membership for unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs will be split into 2 distinct plans:

Plan 1: Unlimited Streaming (no DVDs) for $7.99 a month
Plan 2: Unlimited DVDs, 1 out at-a-time (no streaming) for $7.99 a month

Your price for getting both of these plans will be $15.98 a month ($7.99 + $7.99). You don't need to do anything to continue your memberships for both unlimited streaming and unlimited DVDs.

These prices will start for charges on or after September 1, 2011.

We have been getting a lot of Redbox codes lately, so I think we are going to switch to just the online portion and skip the one at a time DVD (thinking we don't get 8 a month swapped out, which would be $8 = 8 rentals at Redbox when we generally only rent 2 or 3 a month). Just crappy that they have to raise the rates :( like everything else, the price keeps going up! 6|6|the a-holes! i had the $9.99 deal....i already changed it to streaming only on the next billing cycle. im tires of these places raising there prices all the time. if i want to see a new release the blockbuster or red box machines usually have codes for free rentals.|QponFreebieQueen|QponFreebieQueen@gmail.com|19:38:47|07/12/2011|

9|2|The thing about Netflix streaming for tv shows is that you cant view the current season of a show until it's over with....so something like Hulu (payed service for same price I believe) might be better for that..or the Hulu free stuff works for most of the networks now.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|19:58:20|07/12/2011|

We just received an Xbox for the boys birthday and want to stream Netflix (need to buy the Xbox Gold Membership first, yipes it is $60/year) but wonder if I can stream other sites to the tv or just Netflix ?? If you happen to know, you are a genius (either way, you are still a gem)!!! thanks :)

Should add: I mean to stream wireless, we do know how to hook up the laptop to our tv but don't like it connected to the tv with the boys running round :) 12|5|Oh geez, Shel....I dont know...I dont subscribe to the Hulu paying service, and I dont know how to connect computer to tv for such a thing (like to watch online using the tv as the monitor).....so, I'm not so genius after all! Love it and didn't need to get anything else. We went to netflix and clicked on it and had to put the code into the wii that came on the computer hooking it up wirelessly. I am surprised you need to buy yearly service to use your xbox for the same thing.... 20|5|There is a way but not with the xbox I can't think of the name but will find out for you |teener|teenerzacsneenee@yahoo.com|06:30:30|07/13/2011|

It wouldn't surprise me if quite a few customers drop their services, which would then hopefully incite Netflix to offer a better package deal on dvd's & streaming....
Greed is always company's downfall so I'm guessing the $15.98/month for both might not last very long & they'll try to entice customers (likely those that do drop) w/a better offer to rejoin. ;)

Smile... it makes people wonder what you're up to!

Please identify yourself in 1st email w/name/username. Due to recent problem trades, if I haven't traded w/you before, I will probably require you send your end 1st or I'll need LEGIT trade references/feedback. I will be happy to provide the same. IF you plan to hold your end til you've received mine, I will need to know that IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE trade is finalized.

If you're happy w/our trade, please leave feedback for me at:

I'll gladly do the same for you upon request.:)

15|2|That's what happened with cable or satellite customers...they switch back and forth or drop service, only to get a call begging them to come back.....I have no problem dropping the service and going to Hulu paying service for the same price.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|21:12:31|07/12/2011|

We were getting annoyed as it is that their streaming selection is so limited. Now the price increase. Phooey...have to look into other alternatives, if there are any.

and add to that the new XBox and all the "AV" and "cable" settings I need to switch... it's a miracle the boys even get to use their video game system when I am the only adult at home ha ha. I can't say the Netflix selection is impressive and we plan to drop our Comcast cable in the Fall, so maybe I will keep Netflix and hope they add more movies.
Thanks!
19|5|You can stream Hulu and many other sites that are on the internet into you TV -- you need to use a Hard or Wireless Router and the ROKU Box, which works with Netflix|cashcoll|cashcoll@yahoo.com|04:04:16|07/13/2011|

and was adding up the price of the unit, plus the monthly fees for the internet sites ,etc. I will do the math again, especially since our Comcast rates were just hiked, too (plus Netflix). Somewhere there will be a cheaper solution, since we really need to drop our basic cable now, I just have to do the math again :)

Thanks! 22|7|in regards to Comcast.....our rates had gone up ridiculously for cable/internet over a couple years....my DH called and asked for a deal or we would be switching services....they put us back to our original plan rate for combined cable and internet, knocked about $30 off the monthly bill :) (We pay about $88 a month for both combined including all fees, taxes, etc).|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|08:20:53|07/13/2011|

and when I called recently, they said they can only do one promotional rate per calendar year... plus, the boys will be in school in the Fall and we really don't watch that much cable tv, so I think it is a good time to cancel the whole service :) We plan to keep our Comcast internet though, so we will end up saving $60 per month, that will more than pay for gas for me to drive the boys to/from school each day! 24|9|I think we may be dropping the service all together with the new price changes. We arent able to stream at home, only when we are away on vacation or when my daughter comes to work with me, so that isnt worth paying for. And we've been getting more DVD's from redbox lately and theres a video warehouse near DH's work so netflix is becoming obsolete I guess.|jen_ron|jenayn@yahoo.com|10:27:38|07/13/2011|
