11 0|0|Will I have trouble finding a dentist....|Julie|juliejulie1975@yahoo.com|15:50:22|07/12/2011|

Here is the scoop....

I have not had a dentist for about 1 1/2 years. They upset me with things I have had done there (not being done right, etc.) I have been meaning to find another one but have not (only my fault I know). Any way I have some issues. A couple of things that I know need to be delt with (redo a filling or 2, get a couple new fillings, fix a crown). Anyway, now I have a tooth that is really sensitive and has a small piece (tooth or filling) missing. I don't know that it is infected (may be). It will need to be crowned or have a root canal I am sure. What I need is for someone to fix that tooth and then in the coming couple of months deal with the other things.

Will I have trouble finding a new dentist? Will they understand I have problems? 1|1|Do you have insurance? Medicaid coverage? If you have insurance, you shouldnt have too much trouble, but may have to call around to find one taking new patients. Medicaid is trickier, so it may take more calls to find one.....another thing you can do is get some feedback from coworkers, friends, etc about who they go to and if they like their dentist, then start calling those places first.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|15:52:37|07/12/2011|

. 3|3|I dont think that should be a problem then....most have trouble finding a new doctor, dentist, eye doctor, etc when they start on Medicaid or have to change providers because many limit how many Medicaid patients they will accept....I'd go with word of mouth referrals from people you know to start with :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:36:40|07/12/2011|

4|1|Ask upfront if the dentist does root canals. Some General Dentists do, provided they aren't too complicated. This is way cheaper for you. The last time I had a root canal, my dentist wouldn't do it (never does them anyway) and the endodontist was almost a grand... then add on the 600 crown and 400 bucks for the post.... Whereas when hubby had a root canal at his dentist, it was several hundred bucks cheaper. |Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|16:57:15|07/12/2011|

5|2|True, good advice :) Also, keep in mind that an oral surgeon may not accept you with out a referral from a primary dentist....nice Catch 22, huh?|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:31:23|07/12/2011|

and tell them no insurance so dentist will give you a discount I know mine did But you have to ask and also payment plan if needed 8|1|Do any of your local dentists advertise in the paper for a free exam? It may be worth going that route at a dentist (or two) since sometimes their opinions vary. One dentist told hubby it was doubtful a RCT would work, but it did. go to www.dentalplans.com and search in your zipcode to see if anyone takes it in your area.
I worked at a dental office where we accepted a few plans. You pick a plan and it costs like $100 or so per year-many plans include whole family for same price. Also, search for a coupon code that gives you 3 extra months, plus, sometimes they give you vision free.
It's NOT dental INSURANCE, it's a discount plan.

If we have traded, please leave feedback here...I'd be happy to do the same for you! http://www.refundsweepers.com/dcforum/feedback/558.html
