and Zyprexa. Does anybody else take these meds??? I am so bummed and I'm having such a hard time dieting when I have this ravenous appetite. Docs tried taking me off the 2 meds and put me on something called Geodon which caused me to have a major depression with absolutely no sleep at all. So they put me back on the original Seeroquel and Zyprexa. I just signed up for Down the lb.s #3 hoping that maybe the support and weigh-ins will help me a little. Any advice, tips. etc. are so very welcome!!!!!!!

We do NOT count calories! We eat 5 small meals a day.......... we stay way from anything with enriched or bleached flour in it (including enriched pastas) and we have incorporated a LOT of fresh fruit into our eating habits. We try to stay away from deep fried foods and check labels for sugar content. We started off at no more than 10g of sugar per serving and have taken it down to 7g. We no longer make regular eggs either, we use egg beaters instead. My average weight loss per week is 1lb (without exercise) and hubby's is about 1.5 to 2 per week. We have both hit a plateau over the past 2 weeks but we're hoping it will pass. We have also began drinking a lot more water as opposed to teas, soda, juices, ect. We do still allow ourselves a treat once every couple of weeks ........... buffalo wings. But we do not eat near as many as we used too. I will not lie, it is VERY EXPENSIVE to eat healthy..... but it's worth it. We also do NOT eat at fast food places anymore (except subway)...... when we eat out it's at a sit down restaurant and it's usually expensive because we don't eat "junk" anymore and good food costs a lot! The 1st 2 weeks were the hardest for me. Hubby said the 1st week was hardest for him. It's a HUGE change and it takes time to "get it" but it is worth it! Here's a list of some of the items we keep in the house to help us eat better:

bottled water
propel
bananas
apples
plums
peaches
nectarines
kiwis
oranges
salad mix

They sound like a very reasonable variety of foods and I should hopefully be able follow that diet.....thanks again. I have a Dr. appt. today also and I'm going to see if there isn't something else I can take instead of the Seroquel. There must be some sore of replacement! Wish me luck!!
