i plan on redoing my den in the near future
and here is my plan but i need some other peoples thots before i go buy the paint and paper and stuff
i want to do a beach theme
i was wondering how this idea would look
i wanted to paint one wall a beautiful blue color and wall paper the others with a tan paper that has palm trees in it
i already have beach border that has the beach chairs ( have extra from bathroom redoing)
or paint 2 walls and paper 2 walls
ANY ideas would be most helpful since i don't get any ideas from the family
DH wants me to leave it the way it is but after 17 years i am ready for a change in here

THANKS!! 1|1|My two cents for what it's worth, lol....I would paint three walls and only paper one if you are set on wall paper to fit the theme......also, I am not sure if I would do the border on the walls since I dont know what both the wallpaper and border looks like....if the palm trees paper has some of the same colors in it as the border, that might be cool....you dont want it to clash too much by patterns and colors. Also, if you pick up the blue in the room with accessories, keep them on a small scale (candles, pottery peices, etc) since the walls are large....rule of thumb for color combinations in a room are this: Main color should be about 60% of the room, secondary color should be about 30%, and a third accent color should be about 10%. For example, you could have the blue be 60% but keep in mind the walls are large....the secondary color could be the sand/tan color of the wallpaper on one wall, plus you could do the trim in a sand/tan color. Your third color could be things like throw pillows, window scarves, throw rugs, and/or small accessories, just picking a couple of those to use the third color.
