This all started 8 weeks ago, with me having the worst allergy season ever!! I was mireable for 4 weeks, and then a good friend of mine from college took his own life, so I am still having a hard time with that. I then find out I have Bronchitis, from my allergies. I am put on antibiotics, at a walk in center(mistake number one, finish the script, and am still sick. Now it is june 14th, and I am still misreable. I go to my regular doctor, who puts me on singular, and abuturol, for reactive airway diasease, but she realuctant to put mw on an antibiotic, because I just finshed one. We decide to give a few days. When I finally can not take it anymore, I go back to the doctor, and she puts me a strong antibiotic, and a probiotic.

The next day my sugar whish has been high anyway, with all the stress, and illness, sky rockets. Now my doctor had to add another pill to help control the sugar. Okay, nothing else can go wrong, RIGHT? Well wrong it is. The next morning, I wake up with a rash from neck to toe, which is on top of psoriasis, that I already suffer from. I go back to the doctor, and feel like a lab rat, because all 4 doctors in the practice look at me. Two think it is a severe psoriasis flare up,and two think it is a medical allergic reaction. They ask what I think, and all I can do is cry. So there is no way of knowing which medication is causing a reaction, if that is what it is. My doctor, gave me a sedative to take, and told me to try and relax, and not stress. Easier said then done!!

SO I now have today off as a sick day, and was going to be off anyway, on Sat and Sun. Hoping things calm down, and whatever this is goes away. I just can not handle even one more thing right now.

I am following the board, but not posting much. Keeping everyone, and there loved ones, in my thoughts, and prayer.

Thanks for the vent. DOnna

consider it to be chronic post nasal drip....i was diagnosed with RAD several years back...chronically loosing my voice, starting to talk and gasping for breath before i finished the sentence. My gp called it RAD and thru me on advair-panicked the hell out of me as she told me i would eventualy get copd(my moms official cause of death)...i never smoked, so this was not a good thing. Have a friend who is a nurse who sent me to a dr that she has 100% faith in(a pulmonary guy...took in chest xrays and talked to him for about 10 min..he looked at me and said you do not have rad...you have chronic post nasal drip. I had had it so long, i never thought about the actual symptoms. If you continually have to brush your tongue due to whiteness, and if your ears always feel extra waxy(esp the pillow side one if you sleep on your side)...consider what i have to say. I was originally given scrip meds to dry me out...they no longer make it, but any of the decongestants that are designed to dry you out should help...lmk if i can explain it any better...hugs to you..Jodie 5|3|Jodie, some excellent advice....about 5 yrs ago I went to an ENT thinking I had laryngeal cancer (signs and symptoms were all there)....I was told the same thing (well, chronic PND and nasopharyngeal reflux) and as long as I keep the reflux in check, the PND is better...and I also will take a decongestant/antihistamine to help dry up the PND.|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|15:17:25|07/01/2011|

6|4|Joy and Jodie, you are on tto something there. I have had post nasal drip all my life. It seems like when I have allergies, and colds, it all goes to the back of my throat, instrad of out. Now you have me wondering. I have anotherappointment with my doctor, in about a week, and will ask her about it. I just got up from 3hr nap. Sleeping is helping my skin, thank god.|dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|16:22:58|07/01/2011|

I have been similar, with rashes, allergies and such. That rash very well might be from a reaction to the antibiotic. I've had that, too.

Here's hoping you start to feel better soon. ((hugs))

I have sle lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, and many of the medications I take can cause a severe reaction if I am exposed to sunlight. One of the reactions is a severe rash. These medications include certain antibiotics. I hope this helps.

I'm sorry that you are going thru so much..hoping and praying you get it
all figured out real soon!! 15|4|Because of having psoriasis, I have had many courses of medically supervisied narrow band photo therapy, at Yale New Haven Hospital. I am also extremely careful about the sunlight. It is good for psoriasis to have natural sunlight, but I also pay attention when I am on new meds, abou t sunlight exposure. This one thing, I am sure, is not happening. But thanks for mentioning it. The rash I have broken out oin, seems to be fading away, with lots of sleep and r and r. If not I am a patient of Yale dermatology, and will ask to be seen on Monday. |dlpavitt|dlpavitt@att.net|11:26:04|07/02/2011|
