What is "Extreme Couponing" doing to us now? It's making us ALL look bad. I can't even bring my small amt. of coupons or my coupon box in the store without feeling like i'm a criminal. I use a baby wipes box for my extra coupons and rarely pull anything from it while i'm in the store because all the coupons i'm intending to use, are in a small and I mean, SMALL wallet. Now, I feel I have to hide my coupon box under my purse when I walk in..
People are stealing piles of newspapers to get the inserts. They pay for one newspaper, and then take the whole pile!! And I hear they now are camping out at the newspaper distributors, demanding they be given inserts claiming that "most people don't even look at the inserts". I'm sure there are newspaper readers all over the country who have walked out their door to retrieve they're Sunday newspaper, only to be found that it's been stollen. I myself, have bought newspapers with no inserts in them because I know the person who distributed them, probably kept them or gave them to someone else.. HOW FAR is this going to go before the manufactures just quit putting out coupons all together? And I hear that the Extreme Couponing show is ready for a new season. Anyone who is feeling like I am, we really should boycott watching this show!

I coupon, not a big timmer, do what I can to save on what we need each week and if I can get something for free thats great, but we dont have triples or get $ back or have other programs to do what those people do. anyway everyone was like oh did you see that show, I thought you would love it since you coupon, I tell them that it is far from reality what those people do and they make us look bad. Also I am sorry but some of those people have definite problems, my gosh why do you need to hoard 1000 boxes of pasta? Anyway the only stockpile I can get here is toothpaste, and I do and I donate alot or give it away.

I wouldn't be surprised if they just quit putting the inserts in the newspapers altogether. Perhaps we will have to subscribe to getting inserts in the future.

myself I don't think there are that many good coupons anymore, I can usually only use a couple out of the inserts,I like to buy the Sunday paper to read. Our local paper quit having a Monday paper and I save it for Monday morning.Linda

there are certain things we like thats brand name but I have gotten so I will try the store brand and sometimes it taste better then the brand name, I have a friend that use to do the Kroger taste test and she is a big couponer probaly never tasted kroger brands anyway she was doing Welches vereas Kroger brand jelly and tried it herself, she thought she had mixed up the brands said krogers tasted so much better. I went in with a big pile of coupons at our Walmart and by the time I got to the last isle, I honestly only had ONE coupon to use because the prices have gone up SO high there, that even with a coupon I wouldn't pay that price! On the other hand, i've tried to save pennies by going to places like the Canned Foods Warehouse, bought an "off the wall" brand and believe it or not, they had GOATHEADS mixed in with the green beans!! Needless to say, I returned the green beans!

I have never watched an episode of the show. The "fad" will fade like it always does but the fallout will continue to hurt.

i talked with a good friend the other day who runs a coupon service.because of the state of the economy she has been selling coupons to people she has not heard from in 10 years. we truly think that this extreme coupon thing will take atleast a year to blow over. the law suit again ebay is not against people who sell coupon with the disclaimer that you not paying for the coupon but for the time to collect and sort. the suit is against people who sell complete inserts. they are not clipping and sorting.
there is no federal law that says you cannot buy sell or trade coupons. it is totally a manufacturer thing. the amoun on the coupon totally depends on the part of the nation you live in. example: the lipton tea coupon i get here is $1 on 2. the coupon she gets is 40¢ on 1 so of course if you live in an area that doubles the 40¢ is the better coupon.
about 1992 refunding had huge issues but right now refunding is again hot. it took about 2 years for refunding to recover and i think coupons will be the same way.
i do not think you will ever see unlimited doubling of any coupon again. however as we get used to the new rules we will again find great deals.

i do not like the show because they got stuff free which my store can scan one coupon with double then 2nd coupon will not double only get cent off. i know my vons store that i got all the time. i watch who is cashier which i like and i do go to cashier which
check coupon to match with product. i do buy product which i have coupon to buy.
i think they are doing wrong and store may change rule strict.
it would be nice if they can donate stuffs that they not use to waste by expire.

Here's the thing... why not just keep enough for say, to last you till you're 80 years old (the pre-nursing home years) and then donate the rest? NOBODY and I mean, nobody can use up 300 years worth of soap in the next 20 years, depending on your age of course.. SO many of the items that they are hoarding, have expiration dates. I would like to know just WHAT they do with their expired items.. Yes, many can still be used after the expiration date, but some things they can't.

Now I dread it because I'm made to feel like a criminal at the check out.. I am going to Walmart today with a small pile coupons (no more then about 40), probably be able to use just a few of them.. I do this once a month at Walmart, just go in to try and find good deals with the expiring coupons and high value i've collected thru the month.. I dread it but like everyone else here, I have to try and make ends meet..
