I had surgery on my thumb a few weeks ago and I am SO upset by the shoddy job the surgeon did!!!! I've been in pain for two weeks because the stitches were too tight and my hand was inflamed and the stitches kept pulling. He put the incision in a precarious place anyway, right where my thumb bends so there was no way I could keep it still.. It felt like little pins and needles were sticking me.. uh!!! SO TODAY i finally went to get my stitches out and I was really fuming when I saw that the skin hasn't even healed together! I now have an ugly sickening hole in the bend of my thumb that I can't see HOW it's going to come together. He was not concerned at all. YES, now that the stitches are gone the pain is gone but it makes me sick just to look at my hand!! I think this man should take some SEWING LESSONS!!!!

I know, sometimes you wonder WHERE these Dr's got their licences to practice.
You can put aloe vera on it to help with the healing.
Hopefully it'll heal just fine.

I'll do that thanks:) I think he should've given me better instructions on how to care for it during these past few weeks and I guess I am at fault for not calling up and asking. But I remember coming to on the operating table while he was pulling my the stitches thru and he was jerking enough on my hand to make me come conscious! Maybe he's getting burnt out on stitching up thumbs and should go into another practice.

After my fourth c-section. I told the surgeon his sewing skills were not the greastest, and the first three doctors did much better jobs. He was the kind of doctor, that we joked back and forth, so felt I could say that to him. But, after years of a few years of healing it looked much better.

It's starting to fill in but the skin will never come together.. I guess it will be interesting to say the least, what it will look like in a couple months..
Quietwaters, I can't believe you've had FOUR C-sections! WOW!! I've had TWO.. I've always thought they didn't like to give that many.. During my last C-Section, I could feel them cutting me open and I thought for sure somewhere in the recesses of my mind, I was yelling at them about it but i'm not sure.. I felt a terrible stinging as they cut me open like a million miles away...

When I went in to get my stitches out and told him it looked terrible he said, "But your thumb bends now, right?" He didn't care what it looked like... :(

These days it's so hard to find a dr. with compassion, alot of them seem to be so much in a hurry and don't worry about the quality of their work or about their compassion for others. I had 3 C-sections (age 19, 32 and 39) the last one was the worst sew up job ever, my wound keep popping open and I must've went back to the ob dr 5 or 6 times, so they could burn it shut. It was horrible, to this day, it still bothers me :(
