Just a heads up for y'all to lyk there are still viruses/trojans circulating. The latest one snuck in on me this afternoon & is a trojan called Rogue.RemovalTool.M. It has some very persistent & annoying pop-ups masquerading as a Microsoft virus removal tool. It will make your desktop wallpaper disappear & will not let you open IE, Malwarebytes or AVG if you get it. I called my techie & over the phone he walked me thru getting rid of it but I had to open Firefox to download 3-4 different Rkill programs before I was finally able to use 1 to kill it. Then I had to unhide files & folders & use Start, Run to get into a C:\Documents folder to delete it & another one out of there, then update & run Malwarebytes which found & removed the Rogue.RemovalTool.M out of the registry value.
I have NO idea how I got the blasted thing but am very relieved to be rid of it.

This site not only has the downloads to the different RKill version extensions (.exe, .scr, .com, etc.), but contains another link w/information on what RKill is & what it does/doesn't do.
Also something to keep in mind, & what I found out yesterday, if you use Internet Explorer (IE) & you get a virus/trojan that won't let you connect to the internet using IE, it's best to have a back-up browser installed on your computer, such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, so you can use that back-up browser to connect to the net to download RKill or any other trojan/virus removal tool. I use IE but thank God I also have Firefox. :)
