I've been eyeing that inflatable baby pool in my garage & longing all day for a dip in a pool or creek. I remember the wonderful days back when I was a kid & we'd go for a swim in the creek in the evenings. The water was SO nice! Cooled us off & we slept like babies. Of course working out in a hot tobacco field all day, dealing w/the stick tobacco juice, mud & fighting off gnats/mosquitoes helped wear us out too, but the refreshing dip in the creek washed all the day's ick off & just enhanced the exhaustion. LOL
I grew up w/out a/c & our bedrooms were upstairs in a brick house w/a tin roof. HOT!! The upstairs would be about stifling so oftentimes on those hot nights, we'd come back from the creek & set up camp on the front porch or just bed down under the stars in the backyard on top of sleeping bags.
I couldn't live w/out my a/c now but those sure were some fun & memorable times back then. :)
