Have been slowly going through things with my mom since my step dad passed away. It is so hard to get rid of a lifetime of things, that you have held on to for one reason or another. How is she feeling about her new apartment?

When we moved my Mother in law into an assisted living home, we tossed so much away, I felt terrible giving so much away and tossing the rest as those were all her possession for all those years and out they go. You know the same thing will happen to us when we go down that road. After all, you already have all your possessions and where in the world would you put someone elses'. But so glad it all went well with you and your sister.
My sister stole so much of my Father's money and his belongings some of which I and my sisters and brother were suppose to get. To this day, we aren't on speaking terms. And I/we want it that way. She did so many nasty things to us and didn't include us in on personal things. So I'm very happy for you that all turned out so well.
