I was checking out at the grocery store and there were two ladies behind me. The cashier was talking about a lady coming in and using 87 coupons on trial sized items to get them for free. I had 10 Pert trial sized shampoos and said well, I'm getting 10 but I would never do 87 in one transaction - to me that just takes too long. The lady two baskets back said she was getting hotdogs for free with her coupons. The hot dogs were the BarS brand and she was price matching with another store here in town that has them at .48 each for the 12 ounce packages. Well, I know the coupon is good on the 16 ounce packages not the ones she was going to price match and then use a coupon on. What would you do if you knew she was going to use the coupon on the item that it was not intended for? Tell the cashier? Tell her she can't use the coupon on that item or it would be incorrect coupon usage? I was just curious if any of you have ever run into this. 1|1|I probally would have said "Oh I thought that coupon was only good on the 16 oz size" loud enough for the cashier to hear it Or since she was two carts behind you you|teener|teenerzacsneenee@yahoo.com|12:45:36|05/26/2011|

In the situation you describe, I doubt I would do or say anything simply because I wouldn't feel like it was my business to. I would expect that the cashier might read the coupon and ensure it was for what the other person was buying and that would not be my job.

I think next time I will either just not say anything or say to the customer yea i was going to do that deal but the hot dog coupon i had was for the bigger size packages. Where did you get one for the smaller packages? Then, I'm not saying she's doing anything wrong but it will get her to look at the coupon before she uses it and either she will have the right coupon or decide she's not using the right one.
