We had her bday all planned out, we were takin her and her bff to 6 Flags for a weekend, even had the hotel already booked and payed for and that was going to be her bday (its what she wanted). Well, now with a broke leg, 6 flags is out. For the last week I have asked her what she wants or wants to do for her bday and her response is kind of a sad, I dont know maybe a couple of books. She did say on her bday she wanted me to take the two of them to the movies, which is ok but I wanted her first "teen" bday to be a little more special. My inlaws are buying her an ereader so I thought about gettin her a gc to go with it but really cant think of anything else. Was hoping someone would have some idea on what we could do that would make it more special since a lot of the "fun" stuff is out, what with a cast from her toes to her upper thigh for the next 6-12 weeks. Kids *sigh* lol

I only have boys, but I would love to take a daughter along to a cooking or cake decorating class or "girls" craft class (like Michaels or ACMoore); go make pottery or jewelry together, or a scrapbooking day if you are both interested. The last few places would also produce a keepsake for her to remember her special day.
We just had a local shop open with beads,etc and you can go in there to design jewelry and just pay for the materials used, not sure how much it costs but keep thinking I want to try it! 6|5|Oh that sounds neat! The closest place to do anything like that is over an hour away. Shes decided she wants me to take her and her friend to the movies and we always go to dinner at the Cracker Barrel when we do that. I dont even know if our local manicure place is even open on the weekends or if its even still in business.
