Long story short, my daughter was in an accident last weekend and ended up with a broke leg. They put her in a cast from her toes to mid-thigh. We've been using 30 gallon trashbags, tyin them as tight as we can (of course its not tight enough, shes a bean pole lol) and then taping it up, above the cast. But water is still able to get in, not much, just enough to dampen the top but I dont want water getting in and causing her skin to breakdown. Any advice would be great. Thanks!!

sorry about your daughter 3|1|To keep the water out of the top of the cast, tuck a hand towel or a couple washcloths in the space first, with some inside the cast, and some hanging out over the edge...then apply the plastic bag, use bandage tape (the plastic or clothlike tape will work best to stay put during the shower) to 'tie' the top of the garbage bag snugly against her thigh....my best advice as a former full-leg cast wearer and a nurse :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|15:28:11|05/21/2011|
