He drinks it when he gets leg cramps. Guess it might just be easier to take a potassium supplement but if you can't swollow pills guess this intake method would help some.

I try to keep on hand medicine that is across the counter called leg cramps, they are all natural and i find them at walmart for like 3.88 a bottle i dont take them all the time but when my cramps are bad i do, i have a job where i am on my feet all day long soo i try to drink plenty of water and get my potassium but sometimes thats not enough for me and after i have these cramps in my leg or legs, my leg/legs are soo tired feeling and it seems like it always happens at night when i am sleeping

good luck with finding something that helps but i would for sure try the pills

Kathy 8|4|I get them at times in the middle of the night, but mine are mostly from my RLS (Restless Legs Syndrome) and Peripheral neuropathy in both legs.|Newman|BenjiBubbles@gmail.com|09:06:04|05/14/2011|

But, I take prescription meds for my RLS nightly to stop the RLS, which does help my leg cramps also. At times the med for RLS does not work, then I have to take one of my prescribed Narcotic Pain Killers that I usually take for my Spinal Cord injury and that stops it dead in it's tracks within 5 minutes or less. 9|1|read somewhere to pinch the skin between your nostrils|LindaOh|Martinl3@roadrunner.com|10:56:27|05/14/2011|

I know its hard because it hurts so bad you wanna puke and scream and cry and have a heart attack all at the same time but gotta mentally calm down. Tell yourself to chill and breathe. That helps for starters. Then bring your toes towards you with your legs straight. I get mine when I point my toes when I stretch and they can be in the toes, butt or legs. If that doesn't help walk it out on a cold floor. For toes I bend my foot over top of them at the toes. Also for general purposes if any one gets numb feet sitting at a desk all day get one of those inclined foot warmers. Don't know if its the slant or the heat but helps greatly. Hope this info helps someone because these have been absolute heck for me all my life. 12|1|tub bath|sjrentel|sjrentel@iland.net|19:53:25|05/15/2011|

I get them in the calves of my legs at night when I haven't drank enough water.. If you let yourself get dehydrated or are low in potassium, this will happen. Bananas, Apricots, Potatoes.. and then there's always over the counter meds that probably help.. I haven't taken any of those. Also, don't let your legs get cold at night.. Keep them covered.

What helped me to drink more is filling a glass half full w/cold water & setting it on the counter so I'd take a drink or 2 out of it everytime I went into the kitchen, which I'm always going back & forth into. I filled it only half full so it wouldn't get funky or too warm & then too, I'd dump & refill to half again several times throughout the day. But having the glass sitting there reminded me to drink some & I've been drinking more since I started doing it that way.
Fortunately, the tap water here is pretty good. Otherwise, I'd probably be pouring bottled water into a glass to drink throughout the day, or not drinking very much.

ETA: Our bodies need water to replenish what we lose when we sweat & urinate. Drinking water is not only a good preventive measure to reduce the risk of dreaded kidney stones but also (sorry, don't mean to sound gross here) to help our bowels move easier so less problems w/constipation, etc. & in turn, less hateful/painful roids. :(

Smile... it makes people wonder what you're up to!

that a person could be lacking in Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium. Have you tried taking a vitamin supplement?

Most of us don't get enough of these vitamins with our daily diet. 23|2|Arizona is right ... if you are on other meds ...|lwhphd|loretta.harvey.phd@frontier.com|11:43:41|05/18/2011|

especially water pills or BP meds (which have diuretic in them too), your minerals could be out of balance.

Women should have calcium with vitamin D (which helps with calcium absorption) anyway! 24|3|dr oz|wegogo|mike15461@gmail.com|15:59:01|05/18/2011|

also says that women should have 1000 mg of calcium a day which also helps with weight loss.
