10 0|0|VA - does it cover spouses?|KellyJef|burke3536@yahoo.com|16:50:50|05/12/2011|
DH is covered under the VA for medical services.
Someone told him that the VA also provides medical services for spouses.
Does anyone know if this is true?
I have tried searching the VA website but can't find out the answer to my question and trying to get through to the VA by phone is next to impossible :( 1|1|One of my resident's husbands is trying to find this out as well.....he is the veteran, and is wondering if there are benefits for her....if I hear anything, I'll lyk :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:51:59|05/12/2011|

3|3|Thanks, Donna! I live in IL, so maybe I will be able to help my resident's husband find the info....do you know what page that info is on in the book?|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|17:05:23|05/12/2011|
" You'll get what's coming to you ... Unless it was mailed."
5|4|It's just on a single page that is inserted in his booklet|mo6g02|crazylady47952@yahoo.com|17:13:07|05/12/2011|
It says only veterans are eligible for services at an accredited VA, no family members will be seen. This is all it says.

4|1|I don't think it covers medical for spouses who aren't veterans themselves.....|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|17:10:02|05/12/2011|
But there used to be some kind of pension for a spouse/widow/widower of a veteran based ON that spouse's/widow's/widower's medical expenses. Not sure tho if that's still in effect.
Smile... it makes people wonder what you're up to!

they've been very helpful :) 9|1|My stepdad was retired vet....|Quietwaters|Quietwaters39@hotmail.com|23:00:46|05/12/2011|
my mom and their girls get medical, but I do not remember her saying she has to pay anything. They don't have to only go to the VA either, like my dad did who was a vet but not retired from it.
My understanding is that an active duty members family, a spouse who is no longer with an active duty member but not remarried, and a retired vets family are covered.
