DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. - A popular variety of cookies sold under the Target Market Pantry brand and multiple Target outlets has been recalled by the Illinois-based manufacturer.
The recall is for Target Market Pantry Snickerdoodles Cookies marked by the following lot code numbers:
110592W03
110933W03
110941W03
111152W03
111232W03
The lot code information can be found along the left side of the label on the package itself, said Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products, Inc. of Downers Grove, Ill. in a Monday press release.
The recalled products contain undeclared whey (milk). People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to whey (milk) are at risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the products. The recall was announced upon discovery that whey (milk) was not listed on the product label.
The recalled product has been shipped to all Target retail stores since March.
The product is packed in clear clamshells. The print on the label says "Market Pantry Cookie Snickerdoodles" Net Wt 15 oz. (UPC 085239442074).
No illnesses have been reported as of yet. People without milk allergies or sensitivities can eat the product as usual. The package does contain an allergy advisory statement that states "may contain milk", though the recall is being made voluntarily.
No other Market Pantry cookie items are affected by this recall.
Consumers may return the product to the store where it was purchased for a refund. Consumers or media with questions should contact Ralcorp at 1-888-421-4699 or contact Target Guest Relations at 1-800-316-6151.
