She may lose her hair, so scarves and hats are handy, especially in the summer. I used them a lot last summer, probably will again this year.

As far as HBA stuff, she may have very specific needs. I was told to only use Udderly Smooth on my skin, anything else I used actually made it hurt. I had to try a bunch of different toothpastes because anything minty or too fruity made my mouth burn.

Maybe find out about any otc products she may be using or need, I have a bunch of supplements I had to take because either the chemo or my other pills wiped out magnesium, potassium, etc. Those can get expensive, but we can get good deals. I also use Super B Complex to help keep my energy up.

I'd go with things that the whole family can use, tissues, tp, bottled water, etc. so that she doesn't have stuff she can't use.

Hi,
What we did at the hospital was we made baskets for just everyday things they used. Made it easier so they didn't have to buy it. Snacks, paper products, canned goods, cleaning products, hygiene products. We asked what they used and we went to work. Hope that helps.

she won't have to cook just defrost and heat like lasagna & casseroles etc..You can make them up in foil pans and they freeze well too.

I can imagine they might be spending some time waiting around the hospital and vending machines are so expensive, so any snack sized portion controlled things will probably help them.

Otherwise I would just echo the regular household stuff like TP, paper towels or napkins, kleenex, canned goods to help stock the pantry, coffee, tea, etc. 7|3|hadn't thot of snaks see told ya'll lots of thinking brains are better then mine LOL thanks |lydzkydz|lydzmcss@yahoo.com|21:32:07|05/09/2011|
