I've tried several times and just cannot get haley's hair into those long curls that the girls are doing now.
I've tried the velcro rollers, the ones you leave in overnight..the heated kind...It always ends up kinky?
any help is appreciated.

roll up hair section and unroll right away. if you leave it in to long it gets kinky. you can always redo a section if there isnt enough curl, less is more.

sraightening out my hair, the curls are coming back. They say only use conditioner on the ends of hair and curl with slightly damp hair.
When I did my daughters hair in a updo, with long curls hanging, and it is super straight. I used a curling shampoo, then put in gel, and sponge rollers over night, then the next morning curled the parts hanging with an iron. It stayed for two days. Everyone thought it was done at a salon.

Honestly....Shelly, If I remember correctly, Haley has super straight, silky hair right???? My dd has very long straight and silky hair......but every now and then she loves me to curl it.....and here's what I do:
take dry hair and separate it into sections...
Heat the curling iron until it's good and hot
Then take a very small portion of hair at a time.....doing this methodically through her entire head of hair....it usually takes me about 1.5 hours to get her whole head of hair curled....than I spray it and the curls generally last all day......I'll see if I can post a pic so you can see how it turns out.

I have super thick, long (almost to my butt) hair.... I've been doing a style like that for years. What I use is the old school revlon (I think) rollers that you heat up in their case. Make sure they are good and hot. Pull her hair into a low pony tail, then when you roll each section spray with hair spray as you roll each one. Make sure you leave in for at least an hour... What I typically do if I want to last a long time is after they are in about 40 minutes or so and the rollers are cool to the touch, I spray with hairspray again and "cook" with the blow dryer. After you pull out the rollers use a big curling iron for the front and more hairspray :)
