8 0|0|PayPal trade question...|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|08:40:39|04/23/2011|

I recently made a trade w/someone (not on this board) & she offered PayPal. I accepted & when she sent the payment, I noticed PP deducted a 39¢ fee out of the amount she sent. :( I emailed her & told her this. Her response was that I didn't specify no-fee PayPal. Ok, so I guess that's my bad for not being specific about no-fee PP w/THIS trade. But I honestly didn't think I needed to specify that again w/her when we'd just traded a month or so ago for similar & she sent that payment no-fee, & previous trades I had w/her before that were always no-fee PP sent by her. So.... I guess I expected that w/this trade, she would also send no-fee PP. She never specified that she was not sending no-fee PP either.
For as seldom as I receive PP trades, I can't afford to be getting the short end of the stick on fees. :(

My question is, who's responsible for the fees? Is the person receiving the PP supposed to just be shorted & accept it? Or when a person makes an offer in PP, should that person also include the fee in their offer & are they responsible to let the recipient know beforehand if they're not sending no-fee PP?

Please identify yourself in 1st email w/name/username. Due to recent problem trades, if I haven't traded w/you before, I will probably require you send your end 1st or I'll need LEGIT trade references/feedback. I will be happy to provide the same. IF you plan to hold your end til you've received mine, I will need to know that IMMEDIATELY, BEFORE trade is finalized.

........ 2|2|I agree --- no one can afford those fees. Let me ask you this... when you go buy something at the store, who has to pay the tax? You do. She should have paid the fees or made sure it was sent no fee. JMO.|Sara_s_Mom|IClipCoupons@gmail.com|10:40:59|04/23/2011|

6|3|This is how I do it too as the sender....if the person recieving prefers regular funds with fees be sent, I pay the fees....usually it's only a little more, and if I want the items they have, then I agree to it. Most are ok with others sending no fee funds though :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|16:47:17|04/23/2011|

3|2|I don't think it would've qualified as a large trade by any means.|maraj|maraj64@hotmail.com|11:06:38|04/23/2011|

It was barely $3 which included the 44¢ postage for me to mail. Just not worth it to me to get socked a 39¢ fee for such a small trade to begin with, & since I seldom receive any PP trades.
But she has since reimbursed me the fee so I'm grateful for that. :)
Thanks for the input! :)

I am looking for offers in concealed cash ayor, no fee paypal, Stamps or BTFE or make an offer in????

I mail all my trades from the post office and get a receipt.

you always hear noises in the dark when you work at night 5|2|Just to put some perspective on this....last year or so ago....I made a trade and the other trader owed me .99 pp She sent me .50 realized it wasn't right and then sent me .49. BOTH had the fees taken out....so, basically for a .99 trade I didn't even get postage. I did ask her to cancel both payments and redo it as I should at the VERY least get my stamp paid for when I am sending someone coupons! For the most part though.....I don't specify to send me regular or gift pp, I leave it up to the payer. |Barb09|Barb0969@AOL.com|16:33:14|04/23/2011|

Per PayPal's refund policy that someone else pointed out, Paypal now keeps 30¢ on a transaction that you refund that is from a fee based Paypal account.

Wouldn't have been much point in doing it that way then.
