I was in band in HS as well, we competed nationally too, and it was so much fun....we were ranked the number one Catholic HS marching band in the nation at that time :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|06:30:20|04/19/2011|Hubby & I was away for 4 days to NJ visiting MIL and just listened to several messages from answering machine that my daughter who's a Freshman at Mascoma Valley HS (NH) was at Heritage Music Festival Band competition in Orlando FL to hear they came in 1st place plus won 2 trophies!! I am so happy for her and her band...WOW!! She's the only Freshman that plays the French Horn along with one other Senior. Just had to tell you guys the good news!! Sharon:) 1|1|Terrific! I found out along with the 2 trophies, they also won 3 plaques and were top all-around best winners! There were 25 other high schools in this competition so I am very impressed they did so well. She had a blast and a wonderful time - many nice memories for sure! She also got to visit the The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Theme Park as she's crazy about Harry Potter!! On another subject, she's involved in DI (Destination ImagiNation) where her HS team came in 2nd place to participate in the Globals going to Knoxville, TN next month for 4 days! The other 2 DI HS teams did not make it. When she started school, we never heard of this organization so wanted to try out for it and she's so glad she did because her team made it to Globals which only 1st & 2nd place winners get to go. As a matter of fact, they were only 10 points away from 1st place - it was so close!! So, she's certainly having an exciting Freshman year!! Sharon:)
