About a month ago my daughter & her husband got into a fight so he kicked her. As he went out the door he threw his arm & hit the handrail & broke it, but he calls the police & tells them that she hit him with a baseball bat & broke it. Well the state decided to press charges, so she's now facing 2 felonies & it cost me $1000 Fri. for her bail. He refuses to tell the truth. So tomorrow she goes to court & we're praying that this idiot will realize that she is facing 180 days per felony in jail if he does not tell the truth. Please help us by praying that somewhere in this dense head of his, that he has got to tell the truth or this is really going to be a mess. I'm so sick about this & all I can do is pray that somehow this comes to an end with the truth being told. If not, we are looking at over $2500 for a good criminal lawyer & who knows what else. I just can't believe that if he really loves her & wants this marriage to work that he is being so stupid & won't tell the truth. What a mess. We're also scared that if this persists then the boys dad's will come back & fight for custody. It's like he doesn't care about anybody but himself because he would then face a charge of making a false statement to police. I don't know where to turn or what to do, I'm at my wits end.

No face book page they don't have a computer. She was trying to get him to talk about it & record it on her phone but now he won't even talk about it. We did find out that he has 5 different arrests for abuse plus 1 for making false statements to police that she had no idea about. They told us that at the Sherrif's dept., so if we have to go for a lawyer we are going after this record & requesting the lie detector test. We are just hoping that he has a small bit of decency in him or some love for her & won't let it go this far. The Sherrif's dept. even told us how to go about getting this expunged off her record if she is cleared. Does it sound to you like they believe her story & believe that he's lying???? We felt like they did as the officer that did her mug shots & fingerprints told us that he knew Ryan real well & that she had better be prepared for this to happen again. Oh how I wish she had never gotten involved with this dumba#$!! Oh how I wish as a mom I could make everything right & help her more than I can.

I will definitely prayer for you and your family. I would call around for an attorney and tell them what is going on. If he has a past then a lawyer may take the case and you pay nothing. I know there are some here in Indiana. I would help you if you lived near me. I do have a lawyer friend that said if that one police officer knows him then you can use him as a character witness if she goes to trial. I pray that it does not go that far though. Looking at 6 yr. max & 3 yr. min plus $10,000 in fines this is per charge. Gave her a court appt. lawyer & everyone says he's the worst you could ask for. Looking into Indiana legal aid pro bono lawyers to see what we can find out. He didn't even take her to court, her dad did. She says as right now, once this is over & done she's leaving him. Just trying to stay there until it's over in the hope that he will tell the truth. I just want to cry.

Women's shelters &/or Domestic Abuse programs should be able to help your daughter w/what legal things she needs to do to protect herself, her children & whom she can contact for legal counsel. Around here, there are advocates that also attend court hearings w/the victim(s) & stay w/them every step of the way thru the legal procedures. His kicking her is clearly a case of domestic abuse & I hope there are shelters &/or programs in your area that you can contact.
I'm so sorry she & you are going thru this. As a parent, I know how worried, angry & helpless you must feel, wanting only the best for your daughter & grandkids & wanting to protect them.

We managed to get a recording of him admitting that he was lying & trying to get her to agree to lie when they go to court. Our attorney says this will blow him out of the water & the prosecuting attorney will have to drop all charges. Lord I hope so, I am officially broke plus maxed out on my credit card now for this. But I had to do what I had to do. Just as soon as we know where she stands on this, she is filing for a divorce. Our lawyer told her if she wanted to go back with him for now, to go ahead but if anything happens or she feels threatened not to say a word just get the kids & walk out. Get in the car & leave or go to her neighbors. So she has promised me that no matter what time of the day or night if things start to get rocky she will call me & we will meet her halfway to make sure she gets here or just drive down there until she leaves. So please keep us in your thoughts that our lawyer can get this done. Cost a fortune but will be worth every dime if he can. Maybe I can sleep tonight! Thank you friends, I hated to post this but I just needed to talk to someone before I exploded.
