Gee whiz! I grew up watching all the CBS soaps & they just cancelled Guiding Light the year before & then As The World Turns this past Sept., so I'd started watching the ABC soaps when I get a chance in the afternoons. Just finally started getting more familiar w/the characters on OLTL & GH, mostly cuz some of the people from GL & ATWT went to the ABC soaps so I followed them there.
But I also read that several of the actors/actresses on AMC are NOT happy as AMC moved their set to LA from NY to save money & the actors/actresses, in their loyalty to the soap & the fans, uprooted their families moving to LA, & now it's on the chopping block.
I believe Young & Restless is still pretty safe from being axed. At least for awhile.

I've been watching this show since it first premiered on Jan 5, 1970 missing a few years here and there while busy raising my girls. I am just stunned is all I have to say and will certainly miss watching All My Children. It says it will go off the air in September. These two have apparrantly fone down 9% in the last year and the median viewer is 57. General Hospital is in excellent shape as far as money and viewers. They are replacing these with talk type shows with specific boring purposes. How stupid Abc can be losing Regis, Oprah and these two all in one year?! Maybe ABC will be out in a few years!
