Had a filling fall out last night & can't get in to get it fixed til Tues. :( It doesn't hurt, yet, but I don't want it to either so am wondering if that temporary filling stuff will work til I get to my dentist?

1|1|yes... keep the tube with you all weekend long though as the pieces fall out quite regularly while you're eating. Also don't chew on that side if you can prevent it. hubby has one fall out on a Thursday and couldn't be seen until Wednesday...... he used almost the whole tube. 3|1|Yes! I had a molar break and crammed that puppy so well with that temporary stuff you buy at the drug store that the dentist had to drill it out. But it's definitely having an effect on me...low grade temp, facial/sinus pain, and the lymph nodes in my neck are size of golfballs....ick.

I've had abscess a couple times & a couple of root canals. The root canals actually didn't bother me but the pain/pressure from the abcesses just about did me in. I NEVER, NEVER want to go thru that again! :(
I hope the antibiotic kicks in asap so you feel better soon! :)
I haven't yet gotten up the courage to apply the temp filling stuff. LOL Since the tooth doesn't hurt, I'm scared to death applying the temp filling WILL make it start to hurt, & I do not deal well w/tooth pain. It's a molar & just so happens to be on the same side I chew on (my left), so I'm trying to be careful, chewing on my right side & frequently rinsing w/luke warm water to keep the area clean.
I've been told by 3 different dentists that my jaws are so small that if I were to pull all my teeth & get dentures, w/in 10 yrs. my gums would shrink down too much that I wouldn't have much of anything to hold the dentures in place anymore, so I keep plugging along doing the best I can to maintain & keep my teeth. But sometimes I feel like saying to heck w/it, pull them all, just to be done w/it.
Except for feeling weather changes on occasion, I haven't had any problems w/my teeth for quite awhile so this stupid filling falling out really bums me out. :( And knowing that bad teeth have been provent to contribute to heart disease doesn't help matters any.
