just read on their facebook page in the comments, that Kroger is going to discontinue doubling coupons.
Anybody else read/heard anything about that?

I told my family/friends when the 1st episode of extreme couponing aired it would be the downfall of couponers. I am a very avid user, I generally travel 120 miles one way so I have access to about 6 krogers so I dont clear the shelves at any 1 store and when a coupon says limit 4 like coupons or 1 coupon per person, I do that and I dont stand in line and ring up seperate transactions...that way when the coupon policy changes take place, I wont feel guilty like it was partly my fault.....

there is no way i could ever get that kind of savings here. i do real great. but not that great. here you have to swipe your store card first and there are no overages. if the item is 99¢ and the coupon is 50¢ you get 99¢ not $1.

I cannot see needing 60-70 bottles of mustard that is just nuts! My stockpile is low and I have been working slowly on rebuilding it, no stores double coupons so makes it more challenging here for us. I do believe in having what I need, giving away to friends & family, and donating at the food pantry...spreading it around instead of just hoarding it all. I do know though that when people have been poor and struggled and went without things you need it does cause you to stockpile everything. Going hungry and not having food or even household items to clean yourself does change a person and how they think, I know as I been there.
**I don't have cable so I can't watch this show, but think those clips I have seen where some people donate to help people in need is great, they are on the right track of giving back and a healthy balance of not hoarding things.

of it is staged for the camera no way these people are going to that store tomorrow and checking out like that. They may be hoarders or great couponers but I have never seen more than 4-5 carts in an order and I spent 14 years in the grocery industry some of it during the triple coupon wars.

OK, so I KNEW they'd be a thread here, lol, since we all share the same interest. AND I KNOW we all can agree that most of this is staged. I watched the first show then researched the rest. From experience, I've had a store hire an undercover shopper as someone stated there was a woman (me) who was walking out of the store every night with over $300 in groceries. I had the cashier call me AT HOME to inform me of this. I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary as we all know how it works, but nevertheless, someone misunderstood and freaked.
If you google this show, you're going to be amazed at what's being said. It's all confirm-able and I'm shocked TLC didn't do their research better and allowed this stuff to be shown. Did they not think people were smart enough to rip it apart and debunk it??? C'Mon!!!! I'm surprised at least on these self=proclaimed diva's blogs they put in their disclaimers that they are paid for their actions, though it IS the LAW!!!
