So i got a phone call from my doctor Monday after i had my blood work done telling me that my Potassium was low saying it was 2.2 and if im understanding it right its supposed to be between 4.8 and 5.6. Im already on a Potassium supplement so she tells me to take 4 of them and in another 3 hours take 4 more so i do what she says and OMG does it make me sick it did help my Potassium go up but i was so sick yesterday my Potassium now is at 4.0 my question is what causes your Potassium to drop so low. I eat everything that i should be eating to keep it up i have never had problems with it before that i knew of until now so i dont know what im doing wrong.

2|1|There are any number of things that could affect your body's absorption/utilization of potassium you are taking in through foods and supplements....I would recommend you call your doctor and talk to him about the effects of taking so much potassium on your stomach, and ask him about the cause of the low potassium. :)|saint6811|waylan@comcast.net|20:38:32|04/06/2011|

It was my water pill that I have to take. I know when its low because my feet cramp up.

the pill I was taking for my heart, was making my potassium low.
They changed my meds and no problem so far 5|1|My doc called after my blood work to tell me mine was low,,,,,|rainj|jmrains@centurytel.net|08:01:13|04/07/2011|

Im assuming its because of the water pill she has me on because that is why she put me on the Potassium Pill in the first place because she said it could cause it to go low. She didnt ask to see me or anything just said to up my dose of the Potassium. Which i find weird but i guess she knows what shes doing lol she is the doctor
